I got there at 3:00am on the dot right around his opening. I personally thought Sander played pretty well but I couldn't enjoy it. For one thing it was oversold like mad- I haven't seen space that crowded since Oakey/Ferry 3/9. I could hardly move and was pushed, shoved, stepped on, and elbowed more times than I can count. A little crowd control goes a long way. The crowd made it sweltering hot at first, when people left it became freezing cold, there was no re entry to put my coat in the car, and I didn't have a good view of the booth due to the crowd.
Bottom line: sander kicked ass, space sucks. They're lucky they constantly book the best DJs in the world, else I would never go to that hole.
PS- that isn't flaimbait, its my personal opinion, shared by many people. |

by virtue of you writting it we know that it is an opinion.
so. Sander was good, but I was just drained last night and could not get into it. i went to simply support a friend that was openning and have not heard in a while (dj Roland). All in all, going to space last night just brought back memories and sadness of what use to be a great afterhours party led by a friend and a master at his craft M. Schulz. All I can hope is that Ferry will not be as packed, for I will not be to happy. Space is ova once Nocturnal hits the scene.. |

wow, you freakin kids always going to bed too early....art and harold -im dissapointed you left/ miriam- nice seeing another TA actually hang out on the terrace...anyways.... the only ty part of the nite was rolands 12-3 set, in noise, wrong type of music for the beginning of the nite imo... but he played much better on the terrace in the morning... sander freakin brought it, playing very nice in the main room from 3-6 before heading up to the terrace, i cant think of a djs style that better fits the TERRACE than sander k, so fun and dancey, just pure feel good music! he played all of his remixes, including his new Janet Jackson remix---this song in owns!!!! the terrace was insane, more crowded than anytime ive ever seen it even more than during the conference. roland hops into the booth at around 9:30 but sander stays and they tag team it for like a hour, both having just the greatest time.. finally roland just sits down and gives the decks back to sander and he played till NOON IN 9 HOURS!!!!! easily one of the best terrace sets space has ever seen, imo.......wow sander really loves the terrace---how cool would it be if he was a bi-monthly resident for sunrise sessions? Space was still going off when i left at 12:45,(neil dragged me out kicking and screaming-i so wanted to shut it down) oh yea all this on 30 min nap after junkie the nite before now i have to drive back to tampa,

nice, now thats how you do it. 30 minutes of sleep and partying till the wee hours of (not the AM) the PM!. nice one brova! since you were there the whole time, do you remember a track with vocals of "this is not miami"? sander dropped it when he was on the terrace 3/7 the night of tiesto. that track owned my ass, and im hopin he plays in this wednesday in orlando. glad to hear at least one person had a good time. im really looking forward to seein him again. |
