I would pay for it. I'd pay if I liked the music and because it's good to support the dance music industry. I think they're doing this to make it easier for more people to buy music. Now, you can't use the excuse that "I don't have enough money" or "the stores don't carry it near where I live." Just because you can get it elsewhere doesn't mean you should.

(sorry, I wasn't refering to you, skip, alone, just "you" as in you people in the general sense) |

| that beatport cd thing seems to be a good idea! but you said they were burned as data there? is that so? because IMO it's very stupid as wav data and sound take up exactly the same space, but you can't play a wav on a cd player! i definately gotta look into it! i could easily pay for tracks like that. too bad the beatport website is a total mess though!:) |

| I think its a great idea for those that live in areas that are far away from record shops and for releasing previously unreleased mixes and promos that may never get a full release. |

| Very good idea, first label site I have seen bar armada which does this and i believe its the best yet, quite an extensive range of tunes on offer and at an affordable price, :thepirate |

| I think having unreleased stuff availiable to download is the key ploy with this. big up anjuna for offering a good quality service |

i promise this will hurt the industry in the long run...
you people just don't get it do you.
if you start to release everything in 192 mp3s you are going to kill yourself. i don't know who is incharge of your marketing and research departments in the music industry, but they are complete idiots...
mp3s is not the future, especially for record labels, because it in effect makes labels useless. any artist can get rid of the label middleman and put out their own mp3s. why wouldn't they. its not that hard to do it themselves if they don't have to worry about distribution and pressing and actually then they can maintain legal ownership of their work.
you think that you're smart by trying to capitalize on the "mp3 craze", but its not something that can be tamed. by doing this you are in fact encouraging it to continue. you seriously can't expect people to buy an mp3 that is just as easily available without paying for it.
how do you plan to distinguish between those that pay for mp3s and those that get them for free? you can't...its all just data on a cd after you burn it. soon you will have night clubs full of stupid little bedroom dj's that illegally got hold of the music playing and replacing your label artists.
the ideaology of releasing the music this way is good, but the realities obviously haven't been thought through or are being employed to make a quick buck before the whole industry goes down the toilet. |

how good is the quality of windows media ver9? I wish they would offer a lossless format. |
I agree. Lossless is the "ideal" format because obviously its "lossless" from the original source! However, filesize is rather large (60-70% of the original source). If AnjunaDigital stays with lossy formats, you guys should include a variety of choices because it is a perference issue (for the audiophiles). I would at least including AAC (MP4).
Lossless:
FLAC
Monkey Audio
SHN
Check out HydrogenAudio and goto the "lossless" forums for more information. |
