Anyone seen him live recently? Guy still into Prog House/Breaks? Listen to his weekly sometimes, nothing amazing but still worth listening to. Great Wall was great IMO...

F*cker is finally coming down to Hawaii. Always wanted to see him live out of respect - things he's done in the past, the way he introduced me to electronica, etc.

I know his mixing might not be spot on, his ego is pure , and he sold out awhile back, but I'd still love to experience him once before he ends his career.

I saw him back in October (wow, that was 5 months ago already!) and he was trance/progressive/breaks.... Couldn't tell you what he is this month, but I would assume along the same lines. Do a search for a recent tracklist of his.

I think you'll have a good time as long as you don't go in with high expectations... don't expect him to play Tranceport or an Ibiza Essential Mix. :D All in all it's something to see Oakey when you're a fan. Have fun!

well about his ego thing, it definately sux. but i dunno y i always tend to take his side against all the bashing. i believe he has contributed greatly in the EDM scene. he has a huge talent, alot of ideas, and hard work. he was a god i might say. but he's diversifying which is totally his right IMO.
i heard his mixing is great . . no?? maaan he's been mixing for over 10 years, no way he sux!! and yeah he's still into proggy house and breaks. check his newest CD, i think its pretty good.

and witnessing him live is an experience, i'd like to be in ur place. good luck ;)

Just go see him... you should be happy. Based on this thread, he obviously has the support of the Greeks too. :D Highway, good to see you here bro.

Fresh Prince
I saw him last year in Amsterdam, the party was big and very good,
it almost felt like being at a concert.
There were even Tiesto and Ferry in the building to greet him.

I thought he was horrible at Ultra...40,000 people standing around with their thumbs up their butts not dancing.

i heard a 40min clip of his set at ultra, and it was very different from anything i have heard from him before. He mixed more tracks in 40min, that he usually does in double that time!

I did like the set.

Well, lets be honest about his mixing, yes he does know how to beat match and do a mix, but he usually doesnt. These days he is trying to fit tracks together really tightly, with minimal transition time. He is going for more of an energetic feeling, get you from one big song to the next, and fast, without the transition taking to long and you getting bored.

Track selection is always spot on, althought he is playing some of the same tracks for months now. But, he is happy playing what he wants to, and we gotta respect that.

all in all, he is still a master imo. I am a very big fan, and have pretty much every live set available on the net.

have fun if do see him! i know i would:)
