For an Angel and then Crush

man... I still remember when I heard FAA coming in when I first saw PvD in June 99 ...I was pretty much a trance n00b back then and everything was so new to me that I had no concept of how spoiled I was that night - ahhhhhhh
DJ Mikey Mike
I'm not much of a fan of Crush, except the version that he first ever started playing around May in 2003 (the pvd edit of the original SS version). But I think it's quite unfair to include this in his best works though. If you take a listen to the very original 11 minute + Second Sun version, you will see how little input PvD has really had on this track. Except maybe the PvD Remix which is a bit more techy.

For an Angel is certainly one of his most recognised works.

Actually Dave Dresden dropped it at GodsKitchen last Friday, after the poor bloke got his transition from coldplay - clocks, into a tune i cannot quite remember now (tune b4 was clocks was that milkshake song tho), completly wrong. It just wasnt going his way, sounded terrible.

Hehe, he took it in good humour and then the next tune he played was For an Angel, which reclaimed a few people, including myself back onto the dancefloor. Seemed like a "musical apology".

I'd say while not being my fav, it's certainly his most famous tune.

dresden is a fool, did he play any acapellas over it?

hehe, not that I noticed.

Allough dont get me wrong I really enjoyed it. I love his tune selection and he was without Josh, 6hrs is a long time to mix when the crowd is all house orientated and not paying much attention.

I liked his remix of Madonna - Holiday. Anyhow this isn't exactly the thread topic but hey.

I love 'Vega' as well as Starecase's mix

His stuff as of late isnt very great, Reflections is pretty wank :(

For An Angel goes in my top 10 of all time tho! :D

Coincidentally, the last song of that night also happened to be For an Angel. It was his third encore at 10 in the morning - he held the record up as if to ask the crowd if they wanted to hear it - played the whole track with the lights all on - put the record back in the sleeve and then threw it out into the crowd. It was the last song I ever heard at Twilo, so with no offense intended I hope I never hear it again.

that's a tear jerker right there :eyespop:
