As we all know lol

I was thinking about going ahead and heading up there for this, but I don't think I could make it up there early enough plus I can't take friday off such short notice, blah.

Have fun kids.

for todays event i have custom designed a shirt which i will be wearing... using a white t-shirt and a permanent magic marker i have created a shirt that says "Oakenfold is GOD" in 3d handwritten lettering on the front, and "Hardcore T A"
with the words trance addict spelled vertically on the back.

If you see me, talk to me... if you want of course. If it helps... im 16 so if you see some guy in his late 50s walkin around with the same shirt, chances are he just stole my shirt...

Just got back from Milwaukee in record time. Oakenfold was pretty impressive and rather eclectic in his set. I thought with the type of event it was the set might not be so good, but I was very wrong, as Paul mixed a lot of songs that sounded like his sets from a few years ago and fused them somehow into Tiesto, Radiohead, U2, Coldplay and others. Unfortunately no encore and it's a little difficult to dance on those bleachers, but considering what he had to work with, Paul did a brilliant job PLUS he'll be in Chicago soon with Sandra Collins! Glad I went, though my original intention was to pay gas money & $12 admission instead of paying $35 at the Vic, not to have such a good time in 1.5 hours that I convince myself to see him in a couple weeksin an extended set! Not as much into house, but Felix the Housecat was pretty good despite a few technical problems and that 5 minutes I saw of the live band before him seemed pretty cool too.

yeah wtf he left like 1/2 hour early... no encore?

yeah that was my first time seeing oakey, let alone anyone and it was pretty sweet. He really got the people into it. I was in the second row of bleachers and despite trying to dance around on 7 inches of wood while being pushed around by people either falling off the bleachers themselves or trying to get closer to the front AND anything else i was doing proved rather difficult. Felix da Housecat was awesome too even though the weather was messin with his decks or something. Tortured soul was just out of nowhere. They came and started settin up their equipment and i heard a lot of people complaining because they didnt want to see a band, they just wanted the DJs, but suprisingly they used the drums keyboard and bass guitar and basically made house music right there on the spot. I heard a ton of comments about my shirt which said "oakenfold is god" on the front. Overall this night was worth the 30min parking search and the car breakdown on the way home. For never seeing oakey, felix, or anyone spin live before, i can say that those 3.5 hours were spent pretty well... was kind of disappointed he didnt do an encore even after the 10minutes of chanting his name. He didnt even come up to the mic to say whats up. Oh well, the set kicked ass..:happy2:

ended up missing this... caught like 20 minutes of felix. *sigh*....

what happened?

it felt a little like ultra. everyone standing on top of the bleachers and tables. im surprised that table i was standing on didnt break. there was like 10 bouncing on it in and i could feel it bend pretty deep :nervous:

i got there right when felix was ending. what was up with the sound for him? i couldn't hear anything from where i was standing, but when oakey came on, they really turned it up. he was all over the place. banging beat, remix of some pop song, another banging beat, cut into another pop remix, repeat. stopped after 90 minutes. no encore. crowd loved him. i'd say it was worth the trip and $12. pretty cool seeing a nearly full-moon behind the stage and the lighted ferris wheel to the side. i'm sure all the candy kids loved it  i'll post pics sometime over the weekend. heading back tonite to really get crazy

wow. Oakie ing KILLED milwaukee. :wtf:

despite how short it was (and despite my horrible cold, eck!), i'd hafta say that was one of the funnest nights i've ever had. good music, good people, PERFECT night w/ the full moon, awesome atmosphere. oakenfold really impressed me w/ his set, which had a lot of variety, some good classics, and enough energy to keep people dancing and the benches bending and warping (gotta have good balance to stay on those things). there's just something about an outdoor event that ing pumps people up, especially with the drunk energy at Summerfest, lol. anyway, some tracks i remember:

U2 - Beautiful Day (remix)
Paul Oakenfold – Southern Sun
DJ Tiesto - Traffic
Coldplay - Clocks (remix)

uhhhh yeah i really suck at IDing tracks, especially considering i was pretty ed up. i totally know the track he opened with but for some reason cannot think of what the hell it is. this is gonna bother me for the rest of the day.

but... he played one of my favorite songs from his '99 EM world tour:
Wonky vs. Radiohead - Street Spirit (Wonky's Feel The Rush Remix)

i got there around 9 so i caught about 45 min or so of Felix's set. i was too busy socializing back by the beer tent with the guys from MilwaukeeNights.com to really get into the music.

nick, sorry to hear you couldn't make it. that really sucks! :( i'm really considering paying $35 to see him at The Vic on the 17th, so lemme know if you're interested in goin out hustler and player style.
