Que tal,
So I'm looking for a mixer, I'm a noob, but I've been playing digitally for a while from which I'm sure I'll want a sampler. Was goona buy both but I found this:
Numark DM1295
DJ Rack Mixer with 3 Phono, 8 line & 2 mic inputs with EQ & sampler
Now that I know these mixers+sampler exsist, well,...
$$money$$
What do you guys think of these mixers? Experiences? Better recommendations than this Numark? F*ck'em and go seperate? (as priviously planned)
Gracias |

| i have a Numark DM 1285, its not a bad mixer but its not that great either. does the 1295 have seperate eqs for each channel? mine doesnt, if it did i would probably feel better about it. you might want to look at getting a mixer and some kind of seperate sampler. |

nope haven't used it. I believe that mixer has been discontinued for some time now. May i recomend avoiding cheap mixers that have samplers and effects b/c the quality will be bad at best. Just start out with the basics and go for quality equipment.
here are some good 3channel mixers to look at:
Ecler Smac 30 pro
Vestax pcv-175, pcv-275
Rane Empath (one hell of a mixer, Love mine, but very pricey)
Good 2channel mixers:
Ecler Smac20, hac320, concept 2
Tascam XS-8,
Rane ttm-56
There are lots of other good mixers out there but it would be helpful if i knew what type of music you spin, how many inputs, and you budget.
Those listed above are 2-3 channel mixers that range in price from $200-$1000. |

If you still want to go with a mixer that has a built in sampler, the only ones i would recomend are:
djm-600, dn-x1500, dn-x800, tascam x-9.
If you do go w/ a regular mixer, there's lots of effects processors you can buy that has built in samplers. |

| How about saving for a Denon X-1500, I've heard good rumors about them, they look like they will be a quality mixer, its what I'm saving up for, that or the Ecler Nuo5. |

| having never used the denon, i'm not really qualified to comment on the usefulness of the sampler, however i've recently started using the sampler on the djm-600 and you can get some really great effects when you use it properly.. |

This looks good: Numark 5000fx
But its a little out of my budget.
Anybody see anything wrong w/ it? It appears everyone accepts Numark as great entry level.
$500 for a mixer was too much. Read the forums. Now $500 seems like barely enough. Anyway, Pioneer and the like around $1k is impossible.
I do need at least 3 - channels (2 tt's, pc, sampler, efx processor if mixer lacks any). I listen to mostly trance, but I seem to be pretty good (what are friends for :tongue2 ) creating dn'b type music (I've done some pretty cool beats, mostly cos I'm a drummer :toothless ). So when I get my hardware I'm thinking I'll approach what seems to exist as trance n' bass (or some kind of weird mutation)
Anyway, so that's what the mixer is for. So, if your still reading, I'd really appreciate a mixer recommendation.
Muchas Thanks |

i messed with this on saturday for a bit:
doesn't seem like much, 2 channels, 3 band EQ. but that little screen is an integrated KAOSS PAD, a touch screen for effects. let's just say, you can take it as far as your creativity and fingers allow you too :D
dunno about the overall build quilaty or realiability of this, but the one i used was definitely not new, and it felt quite nice. |

I came across the actual korg model made by korg awhile back. It was a absolute POS thus Dave at GC talked me out of it. However i've heard that Numark verson is much better and more reliable. |

| i had only heard good things about the actual Korg. either way. i don't know much about effects, but this thing was damn fun, and it seemed it could do a lot more than all the tweaking i managed to do just messing around. |

| the actual korg kaoss pad is awesome. Im talking about the black 2 channel mixer that korg built. Ya know; Korg's only attempt to build a dj mixer. |
