Actually the PetroCan does use an additive. But the additive cleans your fuel system (injectors and ports) which just actualy makes your engine work closer to it's peak (which is good). The only reason you appear to use more gas is because your engine is working better (cleaner, etc) and providing you more power.
I try to stick w/ the Sunoco 94 since my car can't run on anything less than 91 - I figure the 94 is the way to go (plus the Sunoco is the lowest sulphur, however I don't like the fact Sunoco uses ethanol {give me pure gas please}). |
Thanks for the info RJ.
My car is too old, so me not care ... LOL back to ESO now! |

when a liter costs 94.9c in montreal:
15.2 cents are Quebec Taxes
10 cents Federal taxes
1.5 cents Montreal transportation agency
14.3 cents Federal and Provincial Sale taxes
= 41 cents taxes (43%)
38 cents crude oil
10 cents reffinery's margin
5.9 cents retailer's margin

RJ, correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told that if your car requires only premium (91), then anything above that would do no good to the engine (it would not harm it either). Now that is unless you want to get to the 100+ octane levels, which would only be used during days at the track (in my case).
I used to use Sunoco 94, but then I was told, by a reliable source, that for everyday use, 91 is more than sufficient. Comments please. |

I assume you don't mean this seriously :p
but you'll get mad if you tried to walk or cycle from Amsterdam to the southern border ;) .. and public transportation sucks.. where doesn't it? near the cities it's pretty much impossible to get to your job on time because trains are more late than on time.
anyway i'll be moving to Sweden soon where the gasprices are C$1,79 at the moment which is far more reasonable :D |

I'm with Malek, been to Holland several times and transit there is Waaay better than what we have. Hell, I could jog across the country in a few hours. :)
Now, although high gas prices are costing me a fair bit too, I think prices in North America should eventually reach those in Europe. In Canada, we should do it by higher taxes, and use the money to improve the transit system in and out of cities to provide incentive to not use your car or not need to even buy one. I want them to make it practical for me both in terms of time and money to not drive my car. Gas prices should reflect the true ultimate environmental cost of driving and building roads....
Having said that, I too agree that 20% gas price change in one day (it's happened to me several times in London too) is just ridiculous and very suspicious for price fixing. I'd like an explanation from the companies at how they come up with these prices.... |
