| I'm in the market for some new decks, and I've been looking for some technics but am also considering TTx1s, because I can get a great deal on them. However, I've heard some issues dealing with the pitch--it's not as accurate as one would hope when mixing trance/house etc. Does anybody have experience with them, or can anybody explain this to me? |

from what ive heard the problem with the TTx1's is that they have a digital pitch fader instead of an analogue one like technics or vestax. what this basically means is that when your in the middle of a long mix, and you hear the beats begin to drift slightly you can only change the pitch like +/- 0.1 to 0.2 because of the digital feature. with analogue your able to make more minute changes in pitch like 0.01 or whatever.
my advice would be save up a bit longer and go with technics. you cant go wrong..... |

| Pretty much I've found it's a pain mixing anything on the TTX1s after a while because of the digital pitch adjust. I have to constantly adjust the pitch which is not necessary on the Techs. IMO, you're best off with the techs. |

I don't have a problem mixing with the ttx's... It's the same as mixing w/ cds.
Even though it is a digital pitch control you can easily keep songs mixed for as long as you want... |

| I thought the same thing until a few months ago (had em for a little over a year now). The incraments of .1 for the pitch adjust is just not exact enough for exact mixes you can hold. |

| I've had mine for a few months now and think there is nothing wrong with the digital pitch. I can hold mixes for quite a long time without having to touch the record or the pitch fader. I say go for them if the price is right. |

About the TTX1s, all I have to say is... blech. I don't like the digital pitch control (going to max 0.1 wtf!). I also personally like some resistance when dealing with pitch control, the TTX feels so flimsy and loose. The platter feels really cheap, the tonearm doesnt just feel cheap but IS cheap, the platter start buttons feel like I'm playing with a Fisher Price toy. Keep in mind these are only MY personal beliefs, for others everything I've said they actually prefer over any other make of turntables.
BUt if I were you I'd definitely save your money and buy used Techs. |

yeah its really annoying. the way i play does not work with tt-x1's, i tend to do a lot of bootlegging and playing more than one track, and its really annoying when you have to keep your attention on the deck more than usual when you could really be doing with ing about on the mixer or effects at that point in time..
grr
if they had analogue faders they would be a beautiful deck to use |

Anybody knows if the TT-500 has analog faders?
I tried asking Numark but... nothing. |

| Both the TTX and the TT500 have analog pitch control. The only fault of the TTX is that its display rounds to the nearest .1. And on that note, I think the popular technique is to trust your ears over a display anyways. ;) |

Well, that one I can't answer. But from my own experiences(I have a one TTX & one TT500), I've never had a problem with either of mine. The only problems my tables give me is that I'm often late leaving for work, one of my ears is larger than the other, and I have a wierd dent in my hair where my headphones rest. For that, I blame the tables! :D |
