Ethical dilemma

Right quick here, ethical dilemma. I'm fielding an expanded database system to another "department" without demanding promtion or pay up front. I know they wouldn't give it to me anyhow unless I show them the goods. So my feeling is that after the other department is reliant on it, then I make my demands. Have backdoors built in programming to kill it with a few keystrokes to force the issue and there's nothing they could do to stop me. Is that morally right or wrong?

blackmail gets you no where dude. be upfront about it.
on a related note, I say you create a worm that takes extra cash from round ups on depsoits and deposits it into another account of yours. then you'll be rich!!111, or, you can burn the building down. |

he is makijng a database thingy for other department, however he is not demanding any compensation for the extra work. Later, when he does ask for promotion or money and they don't give it to him....
he wants to know if it is right to install backdoor thingies to mess things up so that they must give him the money or promotion for it to work right.... |

Simply this, demand compensation for goods yet to be delivered or deliver goods, then demand it. No contract involved due to workplace environment - you already work for the employer and they are stretching you the extra mile to get something "free" out of you which is clearly out of bounds. They want your goods, but will never deal unless they see how it benefits them. Reality is the best way I figure.
