| lol no donīt i live in ibiza which is considered one of the nicest parts of spain and besides the clubbing i think itīs . beaches are completely overcrowded in the nice months, clubs are actually also overcrowded, everything is expensive. people are unfriendly to foreigners and besides islands like ibiza and mallorca most of the spanish mainland is like desert except the mountanious regions. spain is like "used up" and spoiled by mass tourism. |

Do you speak Castillian Spanish on the Baleric Islands? Are the Islands more related to the Valencia region? |

I drove near Girona from France on my way to Barcelona.
I would just love to live in Barcelona. It's so cultured. It has a great pace of life. Ferry ride to Ibiza (I think). The architechture is beautiful. And the Catalan women.... amazing! OMG!!! :eyes::eyes::eyes:
I find that Catalunya is easier to understand than Castilian Spanish since I know Italian. I'm not a linguist, so I can't confirm this, but I'm pretty sure Catalunyan is more like Italian. I definately know it's similar to Octtian in southern France (the best part).
Another place I like that's not too far (relatively) is the Provence region of France. I love Nice, the French Riviera and Monaco (and San Remo w00t). |
well Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian... sounds similar for me. I can understand Italian and french without not many problems.
Barcelona is too big for me, here in Girona the life is more quiet and you have all the services you need but Barcelona is a great city, just I wouldn't live there (very stressfull hehe)
Oww and yes from Barcelona to Ibiza is only 20 minutes by plane and by ferry one day .
I'm sure Canada is also great, isn't it? |

Culturally, North America is terrible. The weather in Canada (in most places) is very cold and snowy in the winter.
The good thing about North America is that there is a lot of space. Also, the economy is relatively good - most people here are wealthy by world standards. We also have very good services and infrastructure. Also, there is very little corruption in day-to-day life. (Although the Canadian federal government is corrupt :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: ).
Overall, I'd much rather live in Spain, especially for culture. |

Not all of Spain. I've been alone swimming in virgin beaches here in my province.
Spain has all the paisages you can imagine. Atlantic, mediterranean, continental... For example where I live is too rainy and with a lot of green trees and 300 Km away in the south you can find an olive trees field. |

Catalan and Spanish are the official languages in the Balearic islands. |

So do you want to seperate from Spain? Would you take the Baleric Island with yuo? |

catalan is official language here but the local people speak a dialect of catalan which is called ibicenco. am leaving this island this summer anyway to live in berlin for 2 years. so whatever :thepirate
spain is overated though
well there are some very nice beaches here, apart from the mass touristic ones. but the clubbing scene is also soooo overcrowded in the summer. i went to cream@amnesia last summer when pvd oakenfold and tiesto were spinning and i left early because i couldnīt move a cm. they let way too many people in the club, everybody was sweaty, bad air and very warm and it was just...crap. plus for a simple WATER bottle they let you pay 12 and a red bull is like 16 and a beer 20. and ticker for cream was 55....i know better ways to spend my money.
only thing i really like about the place are those beautiful spring days when its not too warm and not too cold and you can just chill out on the beach and stuff.
in winter its really ty though, worse than summer. nothing is open and everything still expensive plus its really cold and rainy here as well... |

Why? Balearic Islands, Valencia region and Catalonia are autonoumous regions of Spain. I don't want the independance of my region, some ppl here yes, they want but I like be in Spain but with my own culture, language... In general here we want more autonomy not the total independance.
p.d. now I have to go to drink a beer with a mate, talk tomorrow see ya! |
