Well, JZ torn up last night! His scratching and live looping abilities are insane! I really enjoyed the breaks that he was playing. Any trainspotters out there that could give me a tracklisting of his set last night? I didn't stop dancing the whole night. My feet were killing me by the end of the night and I only got 3 hrs. of sleep before I had to drive back home but it was totally worth it. I thik JZ should have played earlier though. When I left the club at 7, it was already light out. I was like damn, it is time to go back to the hotel and sleep. I really like System Sound Bar. It is one of those clubs that is intimate and it gives off a lot of good energy. |

What a treat to see Zabiela work his magic for us. scratching, amazing. sampling, amazing. breaks, BEAUTIFUL. I have never heard such awesome sounds in a club until last night. I went in with high expectations after listening to his essential mix nonstop, and wow, did he blow them away. being able to see him in action from behind the booth... wow.
Thanks to Jon for the guestlist! i thought it was just going to be reduced, but free always works!
Glad to be back in business again... how I've missed seeing world-class djs, surrounded by top-notch partiers! Shouts to Jeff, Em, Liam, Margs, Jenna, Mike, Fuad, Firestarter, goodnet, drgoodvibe, and last but def. not least, butterfly420, can't forget her!:crazy: :crazy: apologies if i missed anyone.
Unforgettable party... I am listening to Zabiela right now, reliving the glory... He is so young too! Interesting to see how he can improve on his near-perfect skills!

Good night. T'was my first time seeing JZ. Zabiela's technical abilities with the Pioneer effects box and the scratching were damn good. Made me go pretty crazy! The other DJ that went before him, I think it was Luke Fair (correct me if im wrong), was also great with some of the choons he played.
A hello to all TAs I met that night, I'd name names, but I suck at those anyways. ;) thx to Liam for going w/me!

WOW! What a night:eek: It was the first time Isaac and I went to System, and we loved it! James (needless to say) was crazy...I really enjoyed every minute, and being surrounded by such wonderful people made the night unforgettable. It seriously is a pleasure to party it up with all of you:D
Erika, it was awesome seeing you again, take care and have a blast! It was great seeing you James, Stereoprincess,Fn_xtc, Jenna_rae & BF, Max, Charmscars & BF, and ofcourse you ECHO!!! ( sorry if I missed some names, gimme time;) )

so it is my turn to pay my homage to DJ James Zabiela.
Got in at around 11pm. As usual made a beeline for the dance floor but not until all the oohs and ahss which were followed by great number of hugs and kisses and hand squeezes shared by me and my great many friends. Not that I'm complaining. Then downstairs to see Big League Chu and Dave Saddler spin in the back room.
I had a great time dancing. The bass lines were awesome, they vibrated through me At times it got really dark and dirty that was good! All in all a great performance for a mere 15.00$. Although I must give voice to my acquaintance/friend? Saas' observation about the somewhat choppy flow at times.
All that aside,Zabiela delievered in his goal as a DJ to make me and from what I could see, many others around me one with the beat. The build-ups were well worth the wait and anticipation. As I watched him weave his magic over us through the glass behind the DJ booth, I remembered who he reminded me of- the lead singer of Silver chair. altho the wise Maxurdamus thought he looked more like one of the Hanson brothers ;) at times he was every bit the 23 year young genius of a kid mischeviously playing at the helm of our party world. He was clearly having just as much fun as we were. Zabiela is certainly one of the DJ's who needs to be followed closely as he comes into his own with the wisdom of time and experience.
It was so nice to see many, many fimiliar faces, from the people I smiled at, danced with ( there were many :cool: ), conversed with, shared cigs with, kissed, hugged, held hands, the Djs I know and respect. The vibe was great!lots of positive energy and smiles all round! Less I forget, was nice to see the women out in full force. I truly enjoyed the company all that helped making this a rewarding evening for moi. Thank you all for being such great sports in coming out, dancing up a storm and supporting a young raw(debatable) talent.
oh and there was some video taping of the party, where will I see this? This might be my 2.5 seconds of fame yet! trust me you'll know its me when you see this crazy woman dancing as if in a trance, one with the beat.
Very few "sketchies" came out to play- which is always a welcome change from some Fridays at System.
System Rawks( wish the sound was better ) oh well I can't have it all. I love it there. :D
As I write this I am envious of Montreal partiers who are experiencing Zabiela right this moment. The sound in Aria supposed to be amazing from what I hear. I don't even know why I am envious as I could not dance right now even if my life depended on it. My feet hurt so...
I will pen of now and sleep well tonight- altho every now and then my body feels the vibration of the bass, serving a a reminder of a great night out last night.

It was an incredible night..I couldn't stop dancing the whole time i was there, so I was getting a little bit scared I'm gonna drop dead right there on the dance floor :)..Great seeing some of you guys again...

Talking to folks ,I was shocked to see so few ppl have been really following Sasha's prodigy in the past 2 years (since GTDJ001 James Zabiela came out in 2002), but at least it's great that everyone's hooked now ...
as i said before, JZ live is something you can only experience, not describe with words.
