only one week to go and Tunisia officialy retreived its candidature from the race , no need to mention Lybia's weak candidature.

who's gonna get it ? only 3 candidates to go and the final battle will no doubt oppose Morocco and South Africa.

gentlemen start your votes !

i'm really hoping SA gets it this time, I almost had my holidays booked for 2006 before learning you cannot trust a kiwi.
now i'm planning ahead, fly to london, get a land rover and drive to capetown for the duration of the cup. spent the cricket world cup there and it was really well run, no-one else in africa has their experience of big events like this.

i will be upset if SA gets it

they get to host the cricket world cup ... it's ok since it's a very popular sport there and almost no one else plays it in africa ... that's justified , besides only commonwealth countries play this sport anyways

they get to host the rugby world cup ... it's ok too since rugby ain't that big in africa , no need to introduce the great national rugby team SA has and no need to say how much popular rugby is in the south hemisphere (sp?) australia new zealand etc ...

but getting the world cup of football , no way man it's not the most popular sport there , the geographical location of SA is bad , it's gonna be winter time , and don't get me started on security/aids issues ...

SA is a great country no matter what , but sorry just because they have Nelson Mandela (with all my respect due to this great guy and what his done for his people) doesn't mean they can get everything they want (we also have a load of political prisoneers which no one gave a about)

that's why i say : GO MOROCCO !!

depends on how you measure most popular sport. Certainly there's more money in cricket and rugby in SA, but a lot more people play football than anything else.
I can't see how it being winter is an issue, i'm sure all the players would rather it be held in winter than summer, it's a winter sport after all.

excuse me but everybody prefers playing football when it's nice and warm outside , not when it's raining and freezing cold :thepirate

???? don't know who the everybody is but all professional games in summer are scheduled to avoid the worst of the heat.
when it's stinking hot i'll take a cold beer and watch sports form the other hemisphere on tv. and it's not like SA is very cold, it's as mild in winter as spring is in england.

and june/july is not extremely hot ! i would prefer watching a world cup when it's sunny outside , not when players have to slide because of rain :p

hwy don't you book your plane ticket for Casablanca ? you're more than welcome mate :)
tubby
i might just take you up on that, but we'll have to see who qualifies first
Genesis Evolved
I predict; Force of the Pyramids :clown:

10 - 15 degrees is a nice temperature to play football. And it will be better for the European countries because they are used to that kind of weather :D

SA gets my vote

playing in Morocco for european countries is like playing at home , there's no difference , that's why the south-americans will vote for SA (because it advantages european countries) ... i hope we will get the 8 voices of europe and organize the world cup.
