My favorites are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Joy Division, New Order and from contemporary times Sigur Ros and Radiohead.
Personally I think this is all classical music, a pretty obsolete medium of art expression for the 21st century.
Kraftwerk I would put in another category, because then one would have to include Underworld, Daft Punk, Massive Attack and so many other edm bands that are much more musically innovative than actual rock in all of its branches. |

Beach Boys were the best band of all time; their album Pet Sounds, mainly directed by Brian Wilson. Pet sounds was all about the different phiphony and all the sounds brian could make; he loved the music the most, the sound and quality. You can have an awesome tempo, and have sucky lyrics. The beach boys had both good lyrics and of course sound.
Brian Wilson's only mistake was backing down. He created the different versions of music. Whereas Elvis created music it's self....basically *my opinion* |

guess if it's personal i'd say RHCP and Muse, just cos they do more personally than most others, who are legendary, but being out of our era, makes it harder to appreciate them |

Jimmy Page owns every EDM producer EVAR!!! (in terms of musical talent). However, Black Sabbath is aslo a possibility. In terms of old bands it's between those two, the Stones, the Beatles and Santana. |
