Dirty bomb in US or Europe?

Okay.. over the past couple years, i have stumbled upon these types of articles claiming that al-Qaeda is trying to attain a dirty bomb and attack the US with it.
Now a certain expert is saying that "not a matter of if there is a nuclear-related attack by Al Qaeda, but when it occurs."
Do you think it will actually happen? If it does, terrorism will be brought to a level that is unprecedented.

i guess it's time for this administration to put tracking devices on every person in the US and kill those not willing to participate for the sake of national security:rolleyes:
if this is indeed the agenda of al-Qaeda, then we should do what we can, short of destroying our way of life before they can. it seems as though the threat of action and the resultant countermeasures are doing a greater damage to our way of life (especially in the subject of our freedom) than al-Qaeda cound ever do with one more attack.:nervous: |

I think it's only a matter of time before some kind of large "spectacular" attack.
But the problems associated with creating a "dirty" nuclear bomb are:
Sourcing the nuclear material (not too hard)
Getting it onto the target (harder much harder rember nuclear material in large amounts are easily detected)
Also creating an actual sizable bomb (also difficult, no attacks in the UK or US lately). |

there are hundreds of teams within many, many civ. and mil. intelligence gatherers all over the world that monitor everything from key words and phrases spoken over every freq. from VLF to microwave to key words and phrases entered into databases i.e. chatrooms, forums or whatever.
besides if those key words and phrases are not picked up and marked for monitor. it is still kept on this database for future reference.
and can be used against you. it sounds far fetched, and for you it probably is, but this is how real criminals get caught every day. |

Ah well actually because of where I work I wouldn't be surprised if I was monitored or whatever.
But I've no issues with that and nothing I do or say indeed the way I am is "un-british" or "un-american" or whatever.
Anyway what do you think about the chances of nuclear attack, dirty or otherwise? |
