haha yeh "survivor in suits " i call it.
Lex got cut, but seriously whether he told them (Ethan/Jerri/Colby) that he was going to screw them with/without a prior agreement (eg. Rob's deal) .. it still remains that they were playing for a million dollars and Rob did what it took to win the game.
Lex looked like a hypocrite when he said to the others that there was a clear distinction between friendship and the game, and when it was used against him he couldn't handle it. He even stood up at the reunion and said "it's survivor, there can only be one winner".
Colby was right on when he said that it's one thing to know how to play, but another to be successful.
wouldn't we all like an "am-buh" :D |
not necessarily true. rob didnt play with an ounce of integrity. he ed THAT many ppl over, which was way more than necessary. look to past survivor winners tina, ethan, sandra? they played with integrity. even colby who came runners up after tina. pity it was colby's integrity that handed a million on a platter to her.
lex did look hypocritical, but anybody coming to the all stars game was naive to think friendships wouldn't come into it. its a right way to think initially, if ur to play with strangers which is how the game should be played. but with mates who u've developed strong bonds with. it involves the factor of "money vs friendship". can you really separate the 2 in such a game? i know i'd take it personal. some1 ed me over for a bit of cash.. mm..
unfortunately tho, rob was the only player in the game. nobody else was really thinking, other than lex. but his game plan really sucked. numerous unos - get rid of ur weak players when ur still in separate tribes so ur tribe can win challenges. get rid of strong players when u merge, so u can win immunity. what was the boy thinking. |

alas, in the Outback "survival of the fittest" did not prevail. colby thought that he played to win, but in the end he didn't.

if it were me.. i'd have made the deal prior to setting foot on the island (I'll fcuk you over but i'll give you a percentage if i win or vice versa) or at least agree that this is a game and what happens is to be left in the game (ie. don't take it personal, then share a few beers afterwards -- on me if i win) ;) |

chookie - Miriam starts at 8.30 2nite on Channel 10 :)
jaykue - Paradise Hotel runs on sex and bitchiness..haha it's like real-life Melrose Place...and the fact that it's so badly produced adds to its trashy appeal *lol* and, they've stopped bringing new ppl in now....so now, the last couple left are the winners :)
and Idol > Popstars At least Idol is halfway decently produced and has some actual talent on there....Popstars is like a hideously bad karaoke night - it's so cringeworthy :nervous: |

collection is COMPLETE! =]]
can't believe nobody has mentioned this (guess its easy to overlook with all the pro/anti-lex groupies out there), but WTF...kathy voting for boston Rob after having a huge lex-like tirade...
AND shi-ann voted for amber...i can sorta see where that came from, amber played the game pretty smart, used Rob M as a shield, he copped all the flak while she cruised through.
this season more than any other i noticed that the producing/editting has been very misleading. in quite a few of the later eps (after kathy got voted out), what we saw of the 'scrambling' post immunity challenge wasn't really in reality what was going to happen at tribal council. |

i'll second that. like that one episode where the editing pointed to somebody being voted out but it actually turned out differently. same applies to when tom got the boot, there was no video of amber and rob discussing the backstab, nor explanation as to rupert and jenna voted tom (would have guessed rupert would vote against rob as he planned in his discussion with tom).
as for kathy, edited or not, she is still a fool ("i agree with lex but oh you're still my friend rob so i'll give you the vote!"). |

| Rob is getting my vote, best survivor to ever play. WHen your stranded on a island with 11 others, no such thing as friends. Each man and woman for themselves. |

i dont see why she's a fool. she played the game with him at marquaseas (sp?) and they became close after that. she didnt know amber as well, and well, she's to be the bigger person. as she said, their frienship was damaged but she believed it was still there.
the show relied heavily on editing in the later parts of this season due to the predictability of events after they merged. man, it would have been interesting if lex, kathy, shi-ann kicked out amber instead of jerri. lex and big tom are pretty good friends, so there was a possibility he could have got the numbers. it would have also been interesting if he won that immunity challenge with kathy after the merge. he was so close too.
one more thing i wanna point out which i found interesting. everybody's sayin not to take it personally, and that you should separate friendship with the game. at the final tribal council, when rob and amber were confronted with the jury, if they truly believed in that, why didnt either of them stick up for their gameplay? instead, they just sat there feeling guilty. they looked like children being scolded for stealing. rob even had a tear in his eye. just food for thought.
ahh, enough survivor talk from me.
until next season anyway :) |

i wanna see an international survivor....like, a team of aussies vs a team of americans, or something like that........
or a survivor where every person on it speaks a different language - now THAT would be interesting :)
don't get me wrong - i love survivor how it is...don't think i've ever missed an episode (aside from when we got shafted and didn't get to see the marqueses one cos we got stuck with the godawful aus version).....but it'd be interesting to see them throw something a lil different into the mix now :) |
