she also had loyalty to lex. just didn't like her saying one thing (tears in her eyes says "i'll give you immunity lex" and then her whole speech at the last council) only to turn around and put Rob's name down on the vote. reeks! both times. she's just as guilty as Rob when it came to backstabbing Lex lol.

What is the appeal behind these shows, because honestly I just don't get it. If I wanted to watch people whinge, complain and backstab then I'd just stay at work...

has everyone done the survey on cbs.com?

haha i had a hard time deciding my favourite moment.

Jenna n Heidi stripping for peanut butter -- got eye candy?

OR

Jonni Fairplays 'dead grandma' ploy -- absolute gold if you ask me.

ah yes, but the people at work aren't trying to win a million dollars (and they aren't as sexy).

Survivor is definitely a cut above the rest of the reality TV shows....this can be seen by looking at how long it has been running. They just finished their 8th season!!!

Webmeister, there are several factors that contribute to its appeal.

  • It is set in remote, exotic locations
  • Usually there is at least one hottie (guy/girl)
  • Humans have natural voyeuristic tendencies - we like to watch!
  • They have cool challenges, where you get to see who stands up to the pressure
  • It is fascinating to watch the people interact in the tribe, scheming, plotting, making alliances, betraying each other, lying, backstabbing etc etc. Its like watching Lord Of The Flies on TV
  • Competition is fun to watch, just like sport
  • You get to see some real characters emerging. Some of the people are just hilarious, like Johnny Fairplay or Rob C
  • The show is addictive
  • The format is very well thought out and the production of the show is excellent

Well, enough bludging at uni, back to work for me.

P.S. Amazing Race rules as well!

Why would i want to watch a made up reality tv show like survivor when i can watch the REAL LIFE SURVIVOR!! ;)

In this years round we watch 2 teams, THE AMERICANS AND THE IRAQIS try and rebuild a society using 2 completly seperate political and religious ideals!!! :eyes: :eyes:

In tonights episode we have 2 SEPERATE CHALLENGES for the teams. See the Americans trying to talk their way out of the abuse of iraqi prisoners and watch as the iraqis once again try to kill as many americans as possible!!!

REAL LIFE SURVIVOR!! The only real reality tv!! ;)

:D:D:D:D

*disclaimer* This is a joke and if you take offense at my seemingly uncaring attitude towards iraq - OFF and get a life!! Thank you! *end disclaimer*
