Seriously the banks there are like nazi's, so if you can get one here before you go do it. Also, you can get an account here through HSBC which you can use in the UK, other friends of mine did this and it save them so much hassle as they had their ATM card and stuff before they left.
I got charged a fee for using my credit card overseas, normally about 1.5% on top of the normal amount. |
If you need a bank account in the UK try Bank Of Scotland. It is harder to open an account over there but if you go prepared its quite simple. Also not all accounts come with an overdraft. |
