umm... aphex twin never produced anything with the title "maximim electronica". what you're reffering to is nothing more than µ-ziq's remix of on.

Richard's works are genius in a good twisted way. I like most of them but there are some too weird tunes for my likings, same goes for FSOL and The Orb which Andy mentioned. Mostly amazing enjoyable work wandering away from the usual mainstream stuff. Aphex Twin's Ambient Works 85-92 is hard to beat.. a remastered rerelease would be great tho as the mastering levels are soo lofi on the original.
As an interesting sidenote, one of the funniest, weirdest and coolest things was when i found out there was a hidden image of Richard himself in the spectrogram of "Aphex Twin - Equation" (track's actual name is too hard for me to type, dig it up yourself :toothless ). The mp3 messes up the spectogram a bit but when made out of the original wav it shows nicely. Here's the spectrogram image:
D-res, you obviously haven't read the whole thread.. meneedit mixed up the track titles. He was actually talking about "Funny Little Man", NOT "To Cure A Weakling Child". Now be a good boy and read the thread one more time carefully. ;) |

You people keep on refering "AirDrawnDagger", is it really that good? And what does it have to do with Aphex Twin?
Oh well, I'll maybe check on AirDrawnDagger soon. |

I just found out of "Aphex Twin - Alberto Balsalm", it's on "I care because you do". The track has a beautifull melody and is one of the more commercial tracks. (It's a lot easier to listen to)

Strange... If you search for the title "Maximim electronica", you'll end up with the 'µ-ziq'-mix indeed. Maybe they call the remix like that or something:conf: |

That's heresy, mate, Aphex is a lot more than that. This is a fact actually, as we're yet to see Sasha come close of Aphex's technique, creativity and diversity. |

Aphex twin is surely one of the most influencial person in EDM. Althought often now said to be surpassed ( he says so himself ) by VENETIAN SNARES, a CRAZY sound destroyer from Winnipeg Canada.
I think Venetian snares is awesome but REALLY not easy listening music. APhex's sets are composed of 50% of Snare's stuff these days... Personnaly my favorite aphex twin track is Fingerbib. The synth line just catch me in my deepest feelings.
Certainly a guy I would love to know |

True...omg!
i laugh pretty hard....airdawndragger is a good album but it doesnt even compare to afx's work. I totally respect Junkie xl and charlie may ( who did airdawndragger ) but like I said...I cant even think of comparing airdawndragger to the richard d james album |

Lol, I read an interview about him saying that his best work is yet to be released. I don't know if he meant doing another album in the future, but just keep in touch with the releases! |

He may be slightly off his rocker, but his highly publicized legal battle with his label could have easily taken such a toll with anyone. But then again, anyone who doesnt see a record label as manipulative and deceptive is a bit naive.
By the way, my favorite Aphex Twin song is 4, the first track off the album: The Richard D. James Album |
