Ice Hockey Fights

I downloaded this video and 2 players just stop, and start fighting..the referee's just watch and act like they were boxing referee's..what the is this? is this allowed in the rules? very weird..

International ice hockey rules doesn't support fights but NHL rules supports so that's the reason. ;)

They basically moderate. Once gloves are off, they don't break it up unless it gets really nasty, others join in or one guy is getting thoroughly pummeled.

i think the refs are a little afraid to step in. they might catch a shot to the face and get knocked out. you rarely see any fights once the playoffs. goalie fights are the best.

I think NHL refs only stop it if:
another player jumps in
one (or both) of the players fall to the ice

this is correct. hockey fights are only stopped if it involves more than two people or if someone falls over...

i love the sport. i kinda wish i had played when i was younger..

ice hockey is fun to watch when they fight..especially when a rumble happens...
