I was lying on my bed, looking at the leaky ceiling and crusty brown ceiling , water dripping down to my carpet, leaving a big wet stain on my nice peeled out carpet ... and thought .. are there any great one-word songs ?
Any one word tracks that when you hear the title, it just gives you the goosebumps, hum the entire song by heart, know every synth or baseline at each second, or just go crazy ?? or just think that it totally represents a good song nature ?? -Beachbreeze - Ahh, the summer, the ocean, etc.

-Eugina - Funky name, but it's such a classic.

I'm sorry...I fail to see how any of these SINGLE WORDs sums up the track (or "says it all" as the threadstarter puts it)
Unless you just want to name a bunch of trance tunes that are only one word long ....in which case that about accounts for 92% of all of them.

On the contrary, why only the other day I was laying on the couch noticing a weak spot in the ceiling above me where the plaster had cracked and begun to flake away where it met the support beam... and thought .. are there any great one-word songs that actually DO sum up the track? Or are they just cool sounding words that don't actually convey what the song may be about. More often than not, such is the case:
- 2 Players - SIGNET
- ATB - 9pm (work with me here)
- Kosmonova or Ayla - AYLA
- Cass & Slide - PERCEPTION
- Fictivision vs. C-Quence - SYMBOLS
- Gouryella - (INSERT ANY OF THEIR TRACK TITLES)
- Holden & Thompson - Nothing
- PvD - Autumn
- PPK - Reload
- Scooter - NEESAJA [whatever that is]
- Matti Laamanen - Flakes [cmon..seriously...FLAKES???]
I arrest my case...I'm sure you see my point. These names mean nothing.
A few ONE WORD tracks that come to my mind as being worthy names for the actual song:
- Andy Hunter - GO (yeah...cuz it actually says GO in the song! lol)
- Armin van Buuren - Communication
- Cosmic Gate - the WAVE
- Faithless - Insomnia
- Solid Globe - North Pole (okay so thats 2, but daaaaang it sounds like the North Pole!!)
- Ralphie B - Massive

The four titles i mention sum up the tracks they represent perfectly IMO. Erendira and namistai just sound mystical and beautifull. Neon is quite dark and im quite sure that moogwai had a labyrinth in his mind when making this tune as the main melody its quite dark, haunting and desperate!!!
How come that "nothing" by holden means nothing?
I mean it has lyrics, its something like a poem isn't it? |
