good post Renegade :).
Uhm i have a question that is bothering me for a while, regarding WMD..
say bush really don't find any WMD and get desprate, and the iraq thing going terrible, soldiers dieng, innocents beeing killed, bad for his campaign and upcoming elections.
could it be that they just plant a stockpile of wmd, and say we found it? |

I'm no expert, but I would say not likely. For biological weapons they have "fingerprints" of sorts that would enable an indiviual to determine what type of strain it is, and the conditions that they were manufactured in ... similar to how one is able to tell what power plant plutoniom was manufactured in. As for chemical weapons I'm sure one would be able to distinguish between an American manufactured chemical weapon (probably far more lethal) than an Iraqi chemical weapon, and determine the age of the weapon. And frankly I don't think the bush administration would stoop so low ... or manage to keep it a secret. |

Oops, yes, it's definitely casus but I think it can can be either bellum or belli (both come up in a google search). Bellum would seem to be the perfect infinitive of the noun "war", whereas belli (from what I can make from this table) would be the first person singular perfect indicitive ( :conf: ) of the verb "war" (probably wrong on both counts though). Gotta love Latin. |
Hehe, I only noticed this because I was playing Europa Universalis recently quite a lot. Anyway, bellum does mean war, but the noun is in it's genitive form belli since it is originates from casus. Casus belli=cause of war. Casus bellum would be "cause war". |

Eh? Since when do nouns have infintives? Nouns--> Declination. Verbs--> Conjugation.
Both casum (= reason) and bellum (=war) are nouns. Casum is nominative ("the reason") while belli is Genetive ("of the war"). Hope I could help. |

Here we go again. “I'm right and you're wrong, I don't care about the evidence, it's true because I say it is so there!” You used Fox News, and Worldnetdaily as sources that the US had found WMD. Am I the only one who's starting to see a pattern here? Other than that, a big to Renegade's post, no need for me to write out my opinion now, as you summed it up perfectly. |
You're forgetting a few... How about MSNBC? and ABC? Those are liberal sources, I used liberal sources, and conservative sources for you all. |

| ABC yes. I don't know so much about MSNBC, but I never watch it. Joe Scarborough is clearly more of a conservative though. Obviously that doesn't speak for the other 23 hours of programming on MSNBC that I never watch.;) |
