For those who think sympatico is ok.......wait till you have to return the modem........they will try to screw you...I had to fight with them for over 2 months because they said I didn't return my modem, when I did.......I also know a few other ppl @ work that went through the same thing.

F****N Bell!!

Damn... there's something wrong with my modem and looks like it'll need to be replaced. I hope I don't have to go through the same thing you did. Guess I should just give them hell from the get-go.

oh, yeah, i remember a radio shack store where the sales guys was an . laughed at my question because it was a simple one and then told me he can't help me. what a jerk. so it wasn't even anything about warranties or anything like that, it was about buying something in the store. i turned around and never going to buy anything at radioshack, they are way overpriced anyway.

Never buy extender warranties from Future Shop...it's a waste of money and it's basically how they make money...they are instucted to sell warranty and even get special bonuses if they do...warranty IS Futureshop's money maker....:toothless

I agree, i read most of the posts on this thread it seems like people like it their way or the highway, if a company says its against their terms policy and conditions, there is nothing they can do about it, you all need to read everything carefully before purchasing warrantys etc.

In rgds to customer serive, most people who are posting here have no idea, since i work in customer service, you are expected to meet high targets..

By the way its their job to ask and probe you? they arent some mind readers!!!!!

so give them a break and let them do their job

I have had my share of bad customer service, a sales rep on the phone and a retail store are totally diffrent people and expectations btw!!

Most terrible ones are the ones at retail stores, i have to wait like a hour before i can ask questions sometimes.

Customer is always right!!! :whip:

of course, but on something worth $700, it makes sense to pay an extra $80 for 3 years coverage. keep in mind that if something messed up after sony's first year, i would be totally screwed for repair. you know how much the sony store charges for parts and labour? it's insane. for some things, an extended warranty does make sense.

i'm not mad about that, i'm mad about the fact that i had to bitch and complain for them to cover what they should be covering in the first place. :whip:

sure it does...

the first time I took the extended warranty was years ago when I bought my first computer, paid like $300+ for that, and the only thing that went wrong in the 3 years the warranty covered me was a little $2 fan gave up and a $40 power supply died. For both of those I had to wait for like a week for the mo'az to fix it. Moral of the story --> should've kept the money.

the second time I took extended warranty was for my cd burner that cost like $250 (paid like $60 for 2 years or something)... and the good thing is, it died on me maybe a month before the warranty was out, so I went in to replace it with "the similarly priced model" by the standards at the time, and all I got was a $40 cheap-ass cd burner instead. Moral of the story --> should've kept the money.

the third time I took extended warranty... well, guess what. there will be no third time!
