arrived at 4pm .. these are the sets i caught:
OS/2 vs. Dr. Trance - nothing special ... but thanx for playin 10 in 01 live outside .. :]
DJ Czeck - nice breaks set, funky prodigy mix?
Myka vs. Tim Patrick - impressive set, nice beat selection
DJ Sneak - sweet set, and nice breakin by bag of trix... but the remix of Usher's - Girl Like You ?!? well itz different heh ...
Dave the Drummer - played probably the best set of the nite
(hands down imho, everyone got involved) ...wickid
Freaky Flow & MC Flipside - impressive set as always, spun some sick Aphrodite dubplate.
Andy C - good set, but way too short
Dave Clarke - nice set, but could not keep the energy that Dave the Drummer, and the jungle/dnb DJ's brought juss shortly before
(but gotta give the man props for the crowd involvement)
Basically da event was pretty hype ... i can't say whether or not it was better than last year's , only different... it was definately a hotter (temperature) day last year. Too bad they closed off so many areas in the sq. like pond and elevated bridge. Anyways it was still a lotta fun... saw ppl there from: co-workers, old highschool friends, university friends, raver friends etc...
where else can u find such a blended mix of everythin ...!? the best part of the party was that tourist group of like 30 old senior citizens ppl walkin thru the square goin "What the is going on here ?!? thatz some GOOD they're playing"... hahaha !
hope 2 cya all there next year :]

I was there man and I agree the event was pretty hype. First time I heard Dave the Drummer and the man is in impressive !!! The set was bangin !!! Too bad he played when it was light....he should have been before (or possibly even after Dave Clarke) where that dark tribal thumping beats he dropped would have had max impact.
DJ Sneak was impressive too, especially his mixing skills but that Usher track was a little cheesy...but it's all good cause he had some real cracking choons in his set besides that one. I'm into House and Trance (Progressive as well as the uplifting stuff) but there weren't that many Trance DJ's around (except for that DJ Trance dude)....I flipped when he dropped 10 in 01 (PVD Mix) but after that most of the other choons were average.
The only dissappointments were the Happy Hardcore bunch !!! (I thought HH was dead and buried !) Oh well can't complain though cause the event had a blend of almost every genre.
The best thing IMHO was the vibe....no one totally ed up on E or K and almost everyone was friendly...and the candy kid ravers were out in full force....(god bless em :)

What !!! U mean u don't like mindless beats at 150bpm with some MC screaming on top of that whipping all the kiddies into a frenzy ? ;)
Heheheh....HH is dead almost everywhere else I think....I've never heard it spun before I came here. |

| Yeah, it was good, but i got there really late... got there at 8:45pm so i missed pretty much everything which sucked, but the only thing i did catch was Freaky Flow and Andy C's sets. Now i love DnB too, so i liked both of their sets, unfortunely for whatever the reason was, Andy C's set was too short, wish it was alot longer. All in all good number of heads out there supporting scene, so it was cool. |

I heard nothing but great reviews, I wish I could of been there.
Just to clarify things, is HH really dead? I doubt it. I heard the Americans eat that up?!? I only have a few friends who listen too DnB/Jungle, and at times I wonder, who listens to this? But Toronto has such a huge jungle scene? I find HH annoying too, just for the record.
Ok this post made no sense, sorry. haha IDANCE does kick ass tho.

| ya ur right halo20, toronto is full of jungle heads. when Freaky flow started spinning jungle, so many people were dancing and , it was da best attention in da rave, when dave da drummer was spinning not much attention, same 4 Dj sneak, and Dave Clarke  but i have 2 say D&B is so much better dan jungle...no fence 2 jungle headz, i will always prefer D&B! so ya, Andy C was sick and i felt dat in da air hehehe |

i was thinking about how i got into EDM and the scene... this event flashed infront of me... i was there from 4:30pm to around 11:30pm. I had a curfew... otherwise i would have stayed.
i was 16 at the time and it was a relativly new experience. It was good sober fun while it lasted.

| OMG - This was my very first post on the TOTA forum...and coicidently, also my first actual party in toronto, though i wouldn't call it a real rave - more like a huge electronic music party. Not that it matter though. |
