lol.. yeah trance these days arent what it used to be but its because its hard to come up with an innovative fresh sounding melody.. back then it was all new to us so the melodies being created were on a streak of awesome.. then like everything else, you lose the spark.. now its about maintaining it and finding the next wave...

i agree, many tracks now sound stale and boring and unimaginative.. but as long as there are quality tracks being produced[which i find plenty] then i believe those should represent the genre of trance, not the bull they feed you on the charts and the commericial media.. as long as you are aware and know the real form of trance music, thats all it matters..

here are some examples of great trance in recent years.. and i dont think ive included any of your fav. list of producers.. so go figure.. its about personal prefrence & style.. and if you've been listening to edm for a while its obvious to not toch anything that are total .

Fire & Ice - Para Siempre/Samoa
Cultivate - Broken Pieces[Goldenscan & Dale Askew Liberation mixes]
Ferry Corsten - Right of way/Sweet Sorrow/Indigo
Ronski Speed - EOS[Original & Perry O'Neil mixes]
Olivier - Future
Midway - Amazon[Plastic Angel remix]
Firewall - Sincere[Original]
Farway Project - Without Fear[Original & Goldenscan remix]
Castaneda - Floor Control[Original]
Oracle - Aries[Original]
Rapid Eye - Stealing Beauty[Rapid Eye & RVG mixes]
Green Atlas - Circulation
Coast 2 Coast - Searching
Starr - Sunstroke
Frank Who ? - Wonderful
POS - Remember/Amnesia
Adagio for Strings[Unknown mix aka Mat Silver remix]
Aural Experience - Lifeforce[Original]
Matt Darey - Nocturnal Delight[Original]
Mike Koglin ft. Marine - Another World[MK club mix]
Rio Klein - Fearless[Agnelli & Nelson remix]

Even im not a big uplifting fan, a few of the tunes you mention djtek are quite good e.g, Cultivate-broken pieces, midway-amazon(plastic angel and there was another remix which was quite good i remember) POS-remember (the summer sun).

a few other recent uplifting ones that i liked...

white room-white room
robert nickson-spiral
endre-kallocain(both mixes)-
(are these three becoming new uplifting classics???)
questia-nexus asia
questia-crystal clouds
solid globe-north/south pole
solid globe-sahara/kalahari(in their more progressive style)
mark otten-tranquillity and mushroom therapy(again in a more driving proggy way)
darren tate-nocturnal creatures( a bit cheesy but i liked it!)
urban lea-threshold(in a darren tate vein)
Dreas-sonic rush/morning snow(these ones are just perfect)
Dreas pres.havannah-havannah

Even these ones though follow the same arpeggiating formula from 97-98 and this starts getting annoying. Especially if one is to thing that everything happens for the money...(you know BIG simple leads and breakdowns is the appropriate sound for BIG festivals where BIG djs play etc...)

Uplifting trance isn't a genre

Like I said, I never expected a civil response but I didn't expect this many people to get behind me either. Wait, maybe I did. I can understand someone getting a little defensive when something they like a lot is attacked, but when I have a mod telling me to leave after I've presented, defended, and contributed a very valid opinion. Isn't that the point of these places, to find out about other people's opinions? I mean read the ing description "This is where you can talk about Trance, or any electronic music."

A good response would be:

"I see your point, but I don't agree because xyz" not " OFF WANKER"
