So what you say? Well we found a dead mouse on my back porch a few months ago (I've never saw a mouse in this area before), I saw a snake in the summer (rarely see them around here), and the leaves stink in the heat because they're decomposing.

Point being, if you don't take care of your yard then it will attract rodents. Where there are rodents there are animals that eat rodents as well...

people in the suburbs for some reason want to sanitize everything. Look there this thing called an ecosystem and when you mess with it bad things usually happen.

Because your neighbor didn't mow his lawn frequently enough it caused a mouse appear? As for the snake, believe it or not they actually are a good. They eat things like... a mouse! So when you remove them from environment guess what happens to the rodent population? Anyways people need to learn how to coexist with nature instead of destroying it. There room enough for everyone if you don't mind sharing.

I'm not retarded, I know how things work. Yes, because the neighbor neglects their yard it attracts rodents due to the high grass. Sure the snake is good because it eats mice, but it wouldn't be around here if there were nothing for it to eat.

There are plenty of woods around my place, not exactly right beside me but in the neighborhood.

I would have never thought this would come out of a thread about bitching aout taking care of their lawn.

When I lived at home and actually had a lawn it was sweet to take care of. i always made fun of those who couldn't. A nice thick green grass makes your house look so much cooler, I love it. but that is me, and obviously, from looking around the ol neighborhoods....not many share the same view as me.

now I moved out to the desert, it all rocks for lawns. Be gratful you have grass, you try playing smear the queer on rocks....not fun.

i get irritated in california where people maintain grass lawns. it just isnt natural. grass wasnt meant to stay green here year round. if you want a manicured lawn then plant something that is indigenous around here that will look nice year round. it is such an incredible waste of water...

Lol! Just laid down the law with my remaining two kids. One is now in charge in back and one in front. Rules are simple. If the grass is higher than the neighbor's then just cut it. Don't care that it's 80% weeds or not. Height matters in suburbia!!!
