felt like a pretty hollow win to me. exciting game, not very high quality but had all the intensity that origin is known for. extra time though just sucked. It isn't a real game anymore when all you have to do is hit it up for five tackles and take a shot at a field goal. I ended up feeling ripped off by that ending.
draws suck though, especially if it is in a decided like a couple of years ago, but golden point is terrible. first try would be ok maybe |

Great Game, Poor Result.... Personally i think an 8-8 draw would have been a more realistic score line, as the intensity of the game was huge and the effort from both teams was very even.
for those that reckoned it wasnt a good game - why do you think that?? Sure it wasnt a free-flowing game but thats cause the defense of both sides was top-notch (there was a total of only 1 line break from BOTH sides in the entire first half!)...
Cant wait for game 2 - With Lockyer back and Webcke hopefully at full fitness for the entire match, Queendsland will stomp all over you cockroaches!!!! :p

ok where to begin!
wasnt the teams fault but rather was a game by hamsted!
1) Fitler was penalised for hands in the play the ball, when he was infact a meter back
2) when tahu dropped it under the high ball and then cawhill or whoever it was scored.... well slater went up with tahu to contend... he was 1-2 meters in front of lockier.... check the reply ill bet money on it.
3) at least half a dozen forward passes let go.

Thats the sort of game i love to watch, lots of line breaks, lots of fabulous try-saving tackles, and great play all round...
To answer your comments Cam, id just like to say i think thats sour grapes!! :p
Though i do agree with the forward passes not being called but that was for both sides so you cant really complain cause at least they were consistent (ie they didnt call ANY! :D)....
As for the hands on the play of the ball, it was called on fittler but it was in fact **** ( i cant think of his name now - started with a B)....
And as for the cawhill try - get over it, it was one of those line call decisions, that can go either way! and you guys did have a couple go your way - i distinctly remember a leg pull called agianst webcke when he was no where near touching his leg which got new south wales to within 30 in the first half... Also i dont think that can be blamed on Hamstead id blame that once on the touch judges!
Either way was a great match and that second try by billy slater - FAN-IN-TASTIC!!!! Thats the sort of that happens when Lockyer is in your team!!! :D:D:D |
