How good is the z3ta+ ?!

I overlooked this synth until I upgraded to version 1.4. Now I'm in love with it!... supersaws, plucks, lush pads.. it seem to be able to handle every sound with the utmost quality! Easily the closest thing to hardware. I'm wondering if it's even worth getting an Access Virus now :)

did you ever play/hear a decent va hw synth?
I agree it can sound superb and you can make some crazy efx with it and it has powerfull synthesis but even when you work with 7x7 saws of the zeta, they can't compare to 3 detuned saws of the virus and other va's.. so much phatter and less digital + it eats cpu

Is it really so true?
I've heard that z3ta 1.4 sounds like Virus B.
And yes, this synth (VSTi) is really really good :)

I don't quite agree. Although it sounds good.

And it is a huge CPU hog.. Like most of the other good sound quality VSTis

Owkay, since I'm a nice guy (sometimes :p ) I've uploaded a comparision

First sample is zeta with 2 supersaws (should be 7 detuned saws) in detuning 2nd is an1x with 2 saws in detune and unison (and bad recording :conf: ) then I've put chorus, delay, reverb on both.

DOWNLOAD HERE

IT's prolly because I don't know e about software too :D

i read on the dutch forums , that the new zeta has this function that can knock out a pentium 4 3 gighz..

but meh i dont get it, why does it always have to be the supersaw..

Dunno, but it seems like everyone wants to do that sound on their fav./every synth they have...
RiCo
I have a Virus B...they don't compare. Yeah, that VST sounds awesome, but it won't outperform the Virus B.
dbl
it's a great softstynh, but it eats to much freaking CPU :/

True
but it was just to show that the an1x sounds much phatter ;)

your z3ta sample sux dezma.. hardly what the synth is capable of..

I know etherium, for example, tends to use z3ta over his virus quite often.. but hardware is still sounds better for other things..

this is basically the best lead I can get out of z3ta.. most of the other leads aren't quite as phat/hardware sounding..

this is a melody I did last night.. so don't go stealing it :P when I get my a-station next week i'll post a sample of that too for comparasin

z3ta sample

only thing about zeta 1.4 is it eats the out of my CPU.. i have a 2.8GHZ P4 with 800MHZ FSB and I can only run 2 instances of z3ta 1.4 on my audiophile's ASIO drivers.. that's Vs 15+ instances (with no external FX) of previous versions..

z3ta+ is nice :D Ive never used a Virus before so i cant compare. But the cost of z3ta compared to Virus is more affordable
