Trance Effect
Buy some Ramen Noodles.

They're cheap and good but watch out for the sodium.

I once tried that.

I think I made a mistake somewhere, 'cause suddenly there was smoke everywhere, and all those fire-things went off.

Damn. Need an extra cooking tip in there...

(Advanced Cooking Tip: Stop boiling once all water has evaporated. ;))

Easy stir fries part 2:

Mandarin beef.

vegetable/peanut oil for cooking
Pepper
2tsp dried mandarin rind
Extra 2tsp soy sauce
2tsp sugar
1.5 tsp cornflour
4tbsp beef stock
Garnish: small strips of mandarin peel.

Place meat in bowl. Mix soy sauce, juice, ginger and sesame oil, and add to meat. mix it around and marinate for 15 mins. Heat wok, add oil and stir fry beef for 2 mins or so until browned. Add pepper, dried rind, extra soy sauce and sugar. Stir fry for another 1 min. mix cornflour with a little beef stock, then add mixture to remaining beef stock, pour into wok and stir until it boils and thickens. Serve over cooked rice.

i just use plain white rise, or brown, scramble an egg and thorw it in, some peas, maybe a bit of cut up ham. very cheap, very good, and very very filling. high in protein and carbs.

during my semester at school, I lived inside a house instead of dorming and had the option to cook. I would go to the market and stock up on meat products(chicken, ground beef, etc..)I would make white rice and mix it with ground beef and tomato puree. I had this bbq seasoning. OMG was that good to put on ground beef. I just came home for the summer and can't find it anywhere!!
insideout
Throw together some cooked white rice, chopped up egg omelette, soy sauce, black pepper, chopped up carrots, and peas. Heat and stir until the carrots are tender. Depending on how much you want to spend or what you're craving, cook and chop some chicken, shrimp, or thin steak. Mix with the fried rice. If you use three cups of unused rice in this recipe, you could have enough fried rice for six or seven people.

after the rice is cooked, put it in the fridge for a bit. this makes it stickier for the fried rice part. we tend to make it with some sesame oil (a few sprinkles, you really don't want to overdo it), a bit of soy sauce, and some homemade mustard sauce. i can't get you exact portions because we just wing it when we make it for dinner, but its half and half with soy sauce and ground chinese mustard powder (got the idea from a local restaurant which makes it GREAT, we still can't duplicate it completely :/). the mustard sauce gives it a nice flavor compared to straight soy sauce. we also add some scrambled egg and peas.

sesame oil really is what makes it good, as well as the mustard sauce. also you can buy a bottle of toasted sesame seeds (which last a LONG time, its a huge amount), that helps too.
