It was getting that way for me, so I simply took a good break.
As for variety of DJs though, Breathe is different everyweek, with maybe the backroom being the only true constant, but I doubt anyone would want a change of Dave Saddler/Big League Chu/Red Turtle in the back. As for the main room, they have a lot of great resident locals who rotate, but System has International guests nearly 3 out of 4 weeks each month.
System got a little stale during the renos, but since the scene didn't take january off this year, it was the same everywhere I went. For me, System is one of the few places with that overly friendly Industry-tye vibe in Toronto, and one of the best balanced crowds.

Yep.. same here. System feels like home for me when I go. I agree that since the renovations, things haven't felt the same (personally I am still iffy on the Front-room setup although exposure for the unknown locals is better there)
But yes.. System on a Breathe Friday night is my favourite night if you wanna narrow it down -- great crowd and music (damn, we have Max Graham, Steve Lawler, among other great residents here!!) |

| I have only ever been to system, so I can't really give an unbiased opinion. So, I am not going to vote. Besides, right now I wouldn't even pick system because although I had an awesome time at interference, the end of the night ruined it for me totally, I have never been harassed so much in my life. |

Yeah.. that sucks. I noticed that certain events (Lawler, for example) attract a lot more 'gropers' and 'feelers'. It's people like that who ruin nights that would otherwise have been great.
Note to dirty-old-men:
If you wanna grope or feel people up, , hit a friggin' top40 or hiphop club .. don't bring it here -- it's not all about that IMHO.
(and do women actually like guys who do this, anyway? <-- sorry..this is for a different forum :p) |

I don't think whether the women like it or not is taken into consideration. Which may be why there is a shortage of them at System lol.
Striptease maybe you should check out other clubs, like Boa for example. Friendly atmosphere, no groping (at least none that I've heard of), and a good mix of gender (with a handful of gay guys to add a good vibe and good energy to the place, plus insane music and decor). :)

I don't know about other women, but I find it really disrespectful to just be randomly touched by strangers, it is called personal space people.
I am just up at the front trying to dance and by that time I was pretty much the only one dancing anymore.. the next thing I know there is some guy right up against my back, I think they want closer to the DJ so I move over... nope right on my back again. I don't care how big your package is buddy, keep it to yourself !
It wasn't just one guy who tried that either.. I must have moved around 4 or 5 times and had the same problem. GRRRRR |

Creep factor at system is very very high. |

I don't think that tactic works on women, it just makes me feel like a vagina with legs really. I think the most effective way of hitting on women is speaking with them, listening to them, you know treat them like a human being and not a parking lot for your saussage mobile.
And as for going to other clubs... my friend that dragged me kicking and screaming into dancing is now away at school. I have a ticket for Tiesto but have just been informed that she will be unable to attend. If I do not like system on my own.. I have a feeling Guvernment will be even less fun on my own. I may end up just selling my ticket. Although I really do not want to. BAH |

If that is what I have to do to go to something I have been looking forward to for WEEKS.. then so be it. I can kick some ass if I have to :toothless |

I'm sure if you attend the pre-meet (assuming there is one), by the time you get to Guv you'll have a dozen people or more there to watch your back ;) |

I haven't heard anything about a pre-meet but if there is one that would be waaaaaay better than braving the guv on my own :nervous: |
