Event Forum - What do you think?

Ok, I've received feedback from some of you but it's not enough to guage what things need to be changed/fixed or if certain things aren't as intuitive as they should be.

So, let it rip!

-- The last option is there because some a small handful of people still cannot see the forum (due to either a cache or permissions issue) -- Those of you that pick #4 please reply in here

I don't think Sticky Threads for events are as effective as they were in regular forum.

For me at least - the first thing I do is look in the middle of the screen and see events that are there.

I think a much more effective solution would be to highlight those threads in a special color(like we did in Masterlist), so that they are highly noticeable, but not sticky them.

EDIT: I cannot vote for some reason. No permissions.

I didn't pick option #4. :) I think the events forum is a great idea but I just had one question/concern. If I find out about an event, say 3 months way, can I go ahead and make a thread in the events forum or should I wait for the promoter (if any) from that club to do that? This is what I liked most about the masterlist. We could find out about an event way ahead of time and then effectively plan our schedules etc. Then the promoter for the event would create an official event thread for it a few weeks before the event.

Suggestion: I think the masterlist or something similar to it should be stickied in the events forum with no links to threads. That way we can see what's coming up few months down the road and then wait for the official thread by the promoter to find out all the details.

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

or we can just keep the rumour threads still in the main forum. like all the tiesto threads are still in the main forum. and if you hear somewhere that something is coming up, you can still post in the main forum.

I think its great too.
I think i share the same opinion as Tordan on this tho. The masterlist was a quick reference and very convenient to look up past events. Ive got an idea. Scrap the past events sticky, and sticky the masterlist there so you can look up the past events easier. Just a suggestion!

Hey Cal....I know that I told you @ Glam boutique that I wasn't able to "see" the events forum but now I know where to look so NOT that I know where I can say that it IS a great idea and I'm all for it...ALL events should be posted there;)

an idea: to avoid that you miss new events (imo that is much easier now, since the newst is not the one on the top, and also perhaps you don't visit that forum as mucha s the main one...), is that everytime a new event is added in the events forum, a (locked) thread in the main forum is also started, so you can see when new events has comed, but they will rather soon go to the button anyway and not bother too much :)

if you understood how i meant? =)
