Hi people !
I sometimes wonder. There are certainly thousands of people who are in some way interested in the production of trance. And lots of companies make sample cds in order to provide the sound junkies with new stuff. But I wonder. I have never heard of an awesome sampling cd which contained:
- a multisampled supersaw ( with every note sampled and looped perfectly )
- some really awesome multisampled trance leads like dumonde, armin, cosmic gate, ferry corsten
- awesome basses, multisampled, for using in hardtrance and uplifting trance tunes
- a big collection of nice 303 sounds anr variations, again multisampled
- enigma / robert miles / ferry / styled pads in multisample
I mean. At any corner of the internet you find sound production tools, huge liberaries like atmosphere, lots of reason refills and akai packages.
THe most basic and essential sounds for trance are hard to find if you want them in professional quality. But how difficult could it be for someone with a studio to sample off some of JP80xx, Juno, whatever synth and sell the sounds ?

The one thing I really dislike about sampled synths is what you get is what you get. That is, you can't modulate the timbre to give it your own personal touch - you're stuck with what they gave you.
I'm sure such a CD would sell well. Are you sure there aren't any out there? Try looking on www.soundsonline.com - they have a fairly large collection. |

You could layer the samples, play with the envelopes, using filters, and oscillators. ( e.g. NN19 )You can get really different sounds of a sample when you are creative.
I searched a long time for such a CD. But I guess it doesn't exist... |

| It all comes down to money, they make more money selling everything seperate than as one package. |

this site has some REALLY good perc samples in the free section.. and their pay samples of leads and pads are probably the best you can get (they sample every other note) but if you're going to pay for samples.. just get the hardware :p

Yes I know what options are available now in modern-day samplers. Regardless, the basic timbre of the sound is pretty damn hard to change to what you want it when you compare it to just using the real thing. |

| why not just quit being lazy and use a vsti i mean seriously the reason why sample cds dont really exsists is because they are pretty much obsoulete based on the fact that you can get soft synthts that are standalone so you dont even need to use a secondary programs besides to sequence. now the thing is there are some good samples but they are hard to find. you might try searching some warez release sites for custom made sample cds where they take random hardware synths and just record. but like i said your best bet is just vstis or standalone and in all honesty theres enough bad ass vstis to make hardware look like one hell of a waste of money.... might try vanguard, z3ta, CS-80v, these three are really good and you can make bad ass sounds. so point is quit being ing lazy and just play with them for a bit and make your own sounds plus i mean recycled never really raises eyebrows. but look theres some good realease of good samples just not going to be offcial cds mostly just rls groups putting out for us to enjoy that are royality free and copyright free so there ya go quit being laze |

Using samples isn't being lazy, it is just another form of creative expression. Most people who sample, don't leave them stock for the most part.
