hate to break it to you man, but DJ software generally just sucks. to make it worth while, you'd need some external controllers, and a very good computer, and for that much investment, you could almost get yourself some decks.

the least-sucky one i've used seems to be Traktor. but again, you'd need a soundcard with 2 outputs, or 2 soundcards to be able to monitor tracks. and using a mouse to turn EQ knobs and pitch tracks is plain gay.

if you just want to compile mixes with your PC for listening, there are other, much better, and also harder, ways to do it. i once mixed an entire 70min set using only soundforge, and a calculator (calculate BPMs, use time stretching, select track sections, apply fade-ins and fade-outs respectively, and then use mixpasting to set everything up). you can make some pretty good stuff this way, but it's quite time consuming. if i had the choice, doing it on decks is 10 times more fun.

traktor dj studio is good
however, it's still hard to use it with a mouse

traktor is alright, but for the price it costs, you can almost buy a cheap second hand set of decks and a mixer:)

The beats keep slipping in traktor too, thought it was my e computer, but a friend said he had the same problem, anyone else:)

Traktor and PCDJ FX 7 are better choices out there..

nah... you dont need a super-powerful computer.. for that matter, current PC offerings in the $300 range will do just fine. even a low-end celeron 2.4ghz w/ 256mb of ram (about as stripped as you can get these days) will be PLENTY.

as far as external controllers -- sounds like a good excuse for someone to learn how to make MIDI pads.
