The Sixers managed to shock the Lakers and win Game 1 in the 2001 Finals and went on to get swept the next 4 games. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on this game until Detroit manages to win again.

i pick lakers in 6...so what the pistons won the first game..i am glad they did..that will get the lakers inspired and awaken the beast..detroit made thier game plan fairly obvious and phil will work his way around it..i expect karl malone and payton to play harder as they r the one who wants it most..the lakers r mad, awakened and not as cocky..so watchout.

hmm...tonight will obviously tell alot...but what happens if the pistons win tonight...i honestly felt that it would be finished in six, detroit winning at home, but now im starting to think that the Lakers might not win a single game...thats right, yah heard it hear first, LAKERS MIGHT BE SWEPT IN FOUR...then Phil Jackson say bubye, malone/payton bubye, and possibly even kobe bubye...all in all, they might implode by the end of game 2...WHY??? because Detroit's defense is TOO GOOD...yes i know thats poor english but thats what it is, too good...not amazing, not terrific, not superb, its just too damn good for any team in the nba...when they clamp down in the final four or five minutes of the fourth quarter, its over. Don't believe me, then watch tonight. Detroit goes back home with a 2-0 lead as they beat the lakers again with their unstoppable defense...

there is no way they r winning tonight..you underestimate the lakers too much...thier game plan is fairly obvious now and phil jackson is a smart coach..i expect the rest of the laker team to step up tonight..the lakers play when they are challeneged..they went in confident and without knowing much about detroit...the day the pistons sweep is the day i will give up watching bball..i repeat there is no way NO WAY the pistons will sweep..

If the best L.A has with four future hall of famers and the most dominant(largest) center in basketball is to beat the Pistons on a desperation 3 pointer with 2 seconds left I think they are in trouble.

well think about... when they played the spurs(was it the spurs:conf:, dont know if it was them or t-wolves) fischer had shot the ball in a 4th of a second. (the game was very close last night, if kobe hadnt made dat shot then it wouldve been all over; i guess after going into overtime they just got their together. i'm guessing wat they need all the time is a lil bit of pressure and motivation:D

there goes ur genious theory of a laker sweep :stongue:

In my opinion coach Brown made a huge mistake and that's why Detroit lost the game. In my opinion Pistons could faul Shaq in these last seconds and then Lakers wouldn't have had the chance to score 3 points...When Bryant hit this amazing 3 pt shot I knew that Lakers won't loose the game. Pity, but I hope to see Pistons 2nd victory in MoTown in upcoming game :)

I was thinking the same thing. They made a few errors in the stretch including not fouling shaq hard enough to prevent the triple point play before the last play as well. I turned it off after normal time because I knew the lakers would win in overtime, especially with the momentum.
