LET THE LOOTING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Calgary made it really far, but I wish they won for a number of reasons...

Basically its like a Canadian thing, but I hear so many people (mainly leaf fans) saying that hockey season ended when the leafs lost. Some say that its stupid how so many have hit the calgary bandwagon, but I would have to say that its not a bandwagon, or a fad thing, its a pride thing. On one hand Canadians want a Canadian team to win, on the other Toronto fans want Toronto to win... both cases its a pride thing. So Toronto super loyalists can bite me!

but its more then that...

Canada has lost Quebec, Edmomonton, and Winnepeg due to lack of progress. I surely don't want to see more follow that trend. At least Calgary making into 2nd will ensure a better future for them for a little while.

Toronto fans don't see that an increasing hockey popularity in the west, will have good effects over here too. So its not just a pride thing, its a quality thing.

Tampa winning the cup will increase popularity of hockey in the south. Thats good overall for hockey, but not for the little guy to the north. In a world where money talks our teams and players will be moving south, leaving the birthplace of hockey sorta lost in the blizard.

other then that I would have liked to see the Stanly Cup back over this side for a bit

MEH...who cares???
The cup belongs to TO anyways! :tongue2

Like i always say... it doesnt matter who wins because the cup will always come back to Toronto each year. Why? Because we have the hockey hall of fame!

Its really too bad Calgary lost. But they blew it playing as ty as they did in the first 40 minutes. And then when they did turn it on in the third, Khabibulin was unstoppable. Gotta feel good for Andrychuck though....167 playoff games and 22 seasons to finally get a taste of the cup.

YAY!

Congratulations to Tampa Bay -- I think they are a pretty good success story :) Someone should learn the lessons and their example...fairly new team...not full of major stars like some others...well managed as it seems...anyways don't want to piss on anyone's parade but sorry about Calgary's loss

Actually, I think both teams have really set an example in the league. No major players, budgets aren't that big...yet they made it so far.

Calgary fans; be proud cause when the playoffs started people would've laughed at the thought of them playing game 7 for the cup.

ouch...you're a little premature on reporting the demise of the Edmonton Oilers who are alive and (reasonably) well in the NHL ;)

I was rooting for Calgary, but it was nice to see Andreychuk hoist the Cup after 20+ years in the league :)
