After hearing the probspot mix of isle dauphine by recluse, i was intrigued into what this 5 track EP would sound like. Probspot appears to have come out of no-where, and suddenly is hitting the EDM world in a big way already. With the track blueberry singed to Armada and now he's been requested to do a remix on the Anjuna imprint to rework the follow-up single to Endre's Kallocain entitled 'I Kill For You', I imagine we will be seing alot more of probspot, and thankfully to! The sound is unique, melodious and pleasing to the ear!
Foreplay
As featured on Above & Beyond's Essential Mix (06.06.04) as the second track, this an uplifting melodic affair, which sounds very housey and bubbly all the way through. It's a feel good track, which slowly brings in the tune, and eventually at the breakdown a twisting whirly sueaky but melodic sound (best i can describe it) joins the party which really makes this one to hum along to. IMO this is very Junkie XL like, quite similar in style and prodcution, a tad more melodic. Without a doubt this is what the EP is all about, hence the title of the EP, expect to have this one playing over and over on your system, and expect the DJ's to be dropping this one alot over the summer period. Safe for house/trance and prog lovers alike!
Bobcat
Even though i'd normally think of this as the b-side to foreplay, i can't in this instance as this is another outstanding tune and to be honest, it isn't a b-side as this is an EP and each tune is equal in it's own way. An interesting build on this one, this track was written very well indeed. I might have wanted to hear it produced slightly differently, but there again, the tune is pretty awesome in its own way anyway! It's hard to describe this one, better to hear for yourself!
Midnight
A very electro-ish start, awith a deep moody bassline, before the melody fades and a warm pad backs the sweet percussion on this one. A few more melodic elements and it flows beautifully for a good seven minutes or so. It doesn't particularly evolve in any way, but i think that this is the point of the track and it's place on the EP. It's kept short and sweet, so it doesn't become boring. an interesting tune that compliments the others well.
Discoteque
Probably my second fave to foreplay. A melodious track that has all the hallmarks to have been released as a track on it's own. Doesn't quite have the originallity found in foreplay, but indeed a stormer of a track imo!
Satisfaction
I really like this one and not sure why that had it excluded from the vinyl release over either midnight or bobcat. However as a CD man, it was no problem and i was luck enough to get it. Keeping the tempo of the EP up to speed, satisfaction is another lovely track to groove to. |

Electronic Elements indeed.
I want Blueberry, don't think Foreplay is very special. |

edit: bah, beat me to it. :p
As for Probspot, all the productions I've heard sound way too much like the infamous mcprog that Armin and Markus Schulz bore the out of me with nowadays, so can't say I'll bother with this. |
