How do all of you make your transitions? Do you use the xfader or the channel levels?
I used to only use the channel levels and keep the xfader in the middle, but I realized that didn't sound too well. Now I strictly use xfader and it's been great. |

channel levels, gives you a lot more control. not to mention you can play with 3 or more things at once, ie. mixng in a track and an acappella at once... |

i mostly use the channel faders when i mix. in the past i've mostly depended on the cross fader, but i like the control and sound of up faders instead. |

For mixing, I will use the channel fader but for tricks I use the cross fader. |

I use channel faders myself. My mixer has an optical scratching crossfader on it, which is unadjustable, so it enforces my use of the upfaders :p |

I use the channel faders exclusively when mixing, haven't actually tried using the crossfader since back when I first bought my decks.
The funniest thing is that you bump into the occasional DJ that does prefer to use the crossfader (not counting turntablists), and it sometimes goofs up the person that is taking their turn afterwards on the decks. |

Yup ... when I started I used the cross fader, but it doesn't give anywhere near the controle of the channel faders.
So I started using the channel faders exclusively. Until recently, now i've started using the cross fader with the channel faders. I've been playing more housey stuff and sometimes it sounds really nice to cut the incomming track for a bar and then slam it back in using the crossfader.
One thing with the channel faders is its usually not a good idea to have both tracks going at full volume cuz then the mix is much louder then when just 1 track is playing. This can be compensated for by cuting back with eqs or not having both channel faders at full. |

Channell Faders for me, and I got nothing new to add to this thread that hasn't already been said. |
