Dreamland (Broken Silence Remix) - Nu NRG
View this Thread in Original format
broken silence
Yes, I tackled this tune. No midis used---you can tell what i wrote new. I did NOT use any samples from the song, all recreated by ear.

I gave it a new touch... just take a listen to it. Maybe you'll enjoy. The reason why i remixed it was more of a homage to nu-nrg. They are my favorite producers and "dreamland" is one of the best trance tunes of all time (imo).

Enjoy, please leave any feedback!

Hmm, I'm not really sure I want to hear this... nothing personal, but some tunes just shouldn't be remixed.

I would've said this was one of the tunes that *needed* a decent remix from the word go, personally. Never liked the original despite the lovely melody.

omg go die :p :p

NRG-Dreamland is top tune!

taste i guess.

abotu this remix

starts good, nice beat, clap is orignal but not bad.

spacy sounds used for your riffs

the fx at 2.44 to loud and sharp..less reson?

am sorry but the break is the same, choirs vs choirs..

sudden stop at 3.44..i don't really like that didn't flow.

the main lead, i donno..50/50 for me :p

the bass could be a bit tougher, kick could use a bit low.

nice acids :)

lol dudes, this remix does the original justice by far in my eyes. i love the perc and how it flows with the beat and bass, crystal sharp synths and generally a very well made remix. i love it. keep up the good work mate :)
Sunquest
mmmm juicy :D
nice beats, quality kick

i LOOOOOOOOOOVE this melody, brings back so much memories omg, im crying lol

u know what u should add, during the soft part u should add some dolphin noises, would OOOOWN :whip: :whip:

hmm at 3:48 i see u changed the melody a little ;) but still good, also u need a little more percs i think, the clap is a little too loud, or its the lack of percs because the clap really sticks out...

this is wouldve been a killer tune back in 1999 or 2000 was it?

damn, awsome track :D
thanx for it

peace out

Whoa, I've heard the tune before but never though too much of it despite all of the fuss, but you have re-introduced me to it. Sounds really nice. :toocool:

Like Sunquest suggested, those dolphin sounds would be killer.

DLing now

very strange as i was actually thinking about doing a remix of this last week

Like the kick, and more percs could work well (as stated before).
The same pads of the original and that change in the lead is beautiful. A lot better than the Rank 1 re-edit (like 10 times), nice work ;).

Thanks guys! glad you liked :)

I like the way the main melody was changed. Great remix.

pretty good, bass sounds a bit raw to me and the synth is a bit too top heavy, its a good job but seems to lack energy i like the new take on the melody tho altho it sounds a bit messy when the top melody plays on top of it with the delay
