Person #1: get a virus! it r0x tha house!

Person #2: no way man.. for trance, a jp80x0 is the only way to go

Person #3: did you mean softsynth or hardware synth?

Person #4: vanguard is the best softsynth you can get!

Person #5: no way.. vanguard blows.. get VAZ or v-station!

just my prediction of the onsolought of worthless posts yet to come.. best thing would be to either read reviews on soundonsound.com or go to a music store and test them out

Access makes the Virus series. There's a BIG topic about this; do a search on it...like best synths or something like that...you'll be overwhelmed at how much info these guys have contributed to the forum. You read the WHOLE thing and when you're done, you'll know which one to buy. All synths have strenghts ans weaknesses. Let's say Korg MS2000...GREAT sound but poor polyphony, flimsy build. Nord Lead 2...no effects, no alphanumeric display, no big memory, only 4 part multi-timbral, but sounds awesome. Ahh let's see...Korg Prophecy...multi-oscillators so you can make bass and actually hear the strings pluck, flutes you can hear the wind and everything...the synth will make any sound you think of...it's an underrated beast, but it's only monophonic, complex operating system, and the stereo outs are weak. So you see, all the mainstream synths will give you great sound once you master them and know how to program.
