ah, good old Scottish fans. They can't qualify for anything to save their life, so they live their whole lives in squalor, only enjoying the moments when England lose. How pathetic.:p |

shut up because you don't have a clue about anything that us scots go through when england are in major tournaments.
We accept that scotland is a sporting country (except for curling) but thats because we have a miniscule population compared to england and also because by the time the majority of children reach 13 in this country they are hardcore alcoholics and drug users. We have no decent sporting facilities, so it's little wonder we don't have a decent football team.
But if you watched the coverage of england games, on scottish tv then you would be as bitter as us.
Last nights game made me sick, especially when the english commentator on ITV called the english teams "the lions of lisbon". What a in cheak, the greatest ever scottish football team in history and the first brittish team to win the european cup and this clive tildsley character just takes their name and plasters it all over england, as if the celtic team never beat inter milan in lisbon in 1967.
I don't mind the english team, in fact I quite like players like scholes, beckhame etc. but the way their media goes on and on and on and on and on about the team is enough to make any scotsman cringe.
end rant. |

It's called an inferiority complex :D
I live less than 50 miles from Scotland so I'm used to this, but it doesn't affect everyone. When Scotland lost 6-0 a lot of them were suddenly claiming they didn't support their national team anyway. |

if the commentators didnt constantly bring up when england won the world cup and be so smarmy all the time id probably suport england when they are playing
we just dread england winning a big tourny cos quite frankly we'd never hear the ing end of it on the telly. nightmare. |

That pisses me off as well but you know what the media are like. In the 94 World Cup we had all the media bull with Ireland but we still supported them.
I don't think Scots need to have any feelings for England, but it's the people who go out and buy France, Switzerland, Croatia shirts for one day, that's just sad. You have to admit there are people who do that. |
