Finally some words of wisdom concerning alcohol. Well actually, it's more like an opinion...one that I completely agree with. However, there is a lot of grey area involved on this topic.
Starting with the fact that I think wine and beer drinkers are sort of in a different class. I'm talking about people who like a nice bottle of merlot or pinot noir w/ a filet mignon or a nice cold heineken w/ a burger for the taste.
The ignorant, mindless college kids at the bars that offer "2 for 1" deals and slam captian n coke all night, make me wonder. Alcohol (generally) just makes everyone act belligerent and stupid. Not to mention it kills more than any disease out there along w/ tobacco. What do you know? The only 2 LEGAL substances. Boom, there's our answer to overpopulation...
No but seriously, it really bothers me when certain people look down on others because their "escape from reality" of choice may be a joint, or cocaine, instead of alcohol. And the reasoning is only because it's illegal?? That's the biggest case of hypocrisy I've ever seen. Most of the people who bash others for wanting to do coke or shrooms instead of getting hammered and hugging the toilet, or screwing an ulgy chick because you had beer goggles, are the same ones driving home after happy hour and taking the risk of killing themselves or someone else.
Of course drugs come w/ the same risks...and this all depends on the person taking the drugs or alcohol (hence the gray area i mentioned before) but I definitely think alcohol comes w/ the biggest risk of all. I can't understand or relate to heavy drinkers who get trashed every weekend and think it's funny that they don't remember how they got home or how they ended up in bed w/ who ever. |
