it doesn't...I think it would be non-competition agreement that would be the issue...if Guv "hired" you as a resident, they could have a non-competition agreement in place.
High level executives (even some front line call centre staffs, *cough*ChaptersOnline*cough*) often have to sign, as a condition of their employment that during their time there, and for a specified time once you leave, you can't work for a competitor.
If a DJ was hired as even a semi-monthly resident, I would think that type of clause in an employment contract could be legal...?

Yeah.. i could see that too -- a resident is essentially a commitment of the DJ to the venue so in essence they're an employee on contract so non-compete clauses should be valid...
... but definitely NOT for regular/special event booked dj's...

I dont know what Boa-Redux is going on about. Im an employee, i dont deal in politics so i havnt the faintest idea if what he says goes on or not. If it is it further adds to my statement that you are being completely umprofessional. To come on a public board representing your club and start spewing your own brand of politics is rediculous. Even if what you say is true (which i dont know and i personally dont care) its pretty pathetic of you to air it out on a public message board. Imagine if someone bearing a "Guvernment" alias came on here and started flaming your club? All hell would break loose and you know it.
Im not on Guvernment's side nor am i on Boa's side. Im speaking here as a private and objective person when i make these comments.
Do i wish everyone could get along? I sure do. Like i said ive heard good things about Boa and one day i hope to get over there and check it out. In the meantime, if you really want to promote unity in this city you can keep your bashing and your allegations to yourself (or at least off a public forum) and get back to promoting your venue positively. |

TranceAddict is a public discussion forum where all opinions, even yours are welcome!!! We are not being unprofessional by exposing certain facts to the public, especially when they adversely impact the very scene this forum seeks to promote.
We would welcome a response from either the Guv or System!!!!!
You should be cautious when admitting that you may visit Boa in the future; Others have lost their jobs and been banned for such "behaviour" LOL. |

As for your comments, the immaturity in your statements is glaring.
I have stated my opinion. My opinion is that i really dont give a flying about club politics and i think both Guvernment and Boa are viable places. And, its people like you posting stuff like this on message boards that are half the problem.
As for a response from another club? I dont think theyd be so immature to post BS like this is a public messageboard.

The other clubs won't respond b/c they don't want to answer the questions put on the table in this thread.
Clubs earn a lot of respect from patrons when they are interactive and up front in forums like these.
The only person who looks silly is you - and people on this board have been saying that for a long time. |
