I'm sure most of you guys have seen that be-heading of the american video floating around the internet. And that recent killing of the other american dude. Its kind of disturbing when you see these poor individuals pleeding for their life, and their governments not willing to budge on decisions.
The whole "negotiation with terrorism is not an option" is a little harsh. Sure I can see why they wouldn't negotiate with terrorists for obvious reasons. But what would happen if the captive was the someone of higher importance.
They can't place value on human life, it really gets to you especially after watching the video. The sheer brutality just to make a political statement really doesn't help anyones cause.
Capture one of Bush's Texan nephews, and watch his administration pull out the nukes.
Just my 2c. STILL BORED AT 1.16PM
Terrorists dont deserve any FAP FAP |

The solution to this rez is to have open borders in Australia :| |

on another note....
John Howard has offered a $31 Billion boost to the education system. But here's the catch, they'll only be eligeble if the school has the Australian Flag up.
SIF that isn't clear evidence that Bush is ramming him up the arse. I'd hate Australia to be as patriotic as America is. I rememeber in primary school on freezing ing Monday mornings, we'd have to have an assembly to sing the national anthem in front of the flag.
Johnny Howard and Lil Bush need to keep their FAP FAP behind closed doors |

| Are you saying you have something against the Australian flag? |

Politically enforced patriotism is just another form of propaganda.
Everything it causes can currently be seen in the US, with anyone that disagrees with the current administration's policies (however right or wrong) being labeled "un-American".
Being "un-American" is synonymous with being wrong, and being against "The American Way", when in fact, all it means is "Disagrees With Bush"
Won't it be a lovely country when we have to bow to 'lil John? Chiropractors will love it... we'll all have to bow so low it'll cause back problems :)

Not at all dude, if you've been to America you will notice every house will have the American flag masted high above their porch. (I'm not exaggerating when I say 'every')
Now when you walk down your street, and you see your neighbour putting up the Aussie flag on the flagpole, whats the first thought you have about your neighbour? |

it sucks about these brutal deaths :( but what really could have been done to stop it happening? are they supposed to pull out all troops because of 1 or 2 threats?
Even if they did tho that the bastards would probably still behead him and cause more havoic. :sadgreen: |

The media only talks about what is bad in the news so i dont take much notice of anything they say anymore. These people are cutting off peoples heads for christs sakes yet there is more publicity and upraw over the prisoners in iraq getting slapped around abit then someone cutting off someones head!!!
All this talk about all these bombings all the time, you would think the whole country is being blown apart. Look at this way, if a bomb goes off outside my house in Sydney does that mean the whole country is under attack as the media is trying to portray in iraq. NO WAY.
Just the fact that they even think that by cutting off a persons head would solve anything is a true testament to how mad some of these people are. They have been killing people for years and so far it has achieved 00000000000000000! They will continue to do it until they are stopped which is what the alliance is trying to do. |

I have to say i disagree with a few comments in this thread.
Firstly, i dont think you can give in to terrorists when they kidnap people. If the Koreans had pulled their troops out can you imagine the number of kidnappings that would have taken place in the next hour?? Every single militant around the world that wanted something/anything to change would have grabbed the nearest person, put a machete to their head and said change/do this... when would it end?
Although on this topic i cant believe that their isnt some way to have found out where they were keeping him or who was behind it and rescued the poor bugger. If you have negotiations going on (as claimed on the news), that means that someone is in contact with the authorities and surely there is someway to trace the phone call or follow the bastard back to the hide out? But then again i dont know all the details so, who knows maybe it wasnt possible tihs time! :(
Secondly, ive got no problem with schools being required to have an aussie flag. I think its good for kids to have a bit of love for their country and knowledge of our history. Saying that every school having a flag and kids having to sing the aussie anthem once a week whilst growing up is going to turn everyone into idiotic patriots (like in america) or lil johnnys bitches is ridiculous. If your not allowed to try and instill a little bit of pride in your country into kids (cause lets face it we DO live in the best country in the world) then why the have we worked so hard to make our country so great!
Australians are not americans, we love our country but that doesnt mean we love our government! Rez and James, can you explain to me how singing our national anthem and having a flag at your school makes you vote for Liberal and little johnny???? :conf:  |
