also, the thing I like about the Protege 6 is that its a wagon. My SVT focus held NINE people in it once. I could put a couple of bikes, gear, etc in there. awesome in car. and it was a SMALL 3 door. The proteges have huge space.

The next car I get is gonna be a WRX wagon. Absolutely bad ass.

i used to have a wagon... that was great. i am thinking about a passat wagon next time if they make it in a diesel hybrid by then....

I cant wait till diesel hybrids are big. The new trucks coming out with it are going to be really cool too. I think Dodge is making a Turbo Diesel Ram hybrid :eyespop:

Really cool concepts, im excited for the next 5-10 years

Acura Integra (2000-2003)

they stopped making Integra's in 2001, replacing them with the RSX... which are nice cars but unfortunately still pretty expensive. plus it's not really worth it unless you know how to drive stick so you can get the Type-S.

Slylee, try checking out Honda. i got my Accord coupe a little over a year ago for just under $10k, and it's a 98. and like Toyota they are very reliable. i've got about 84k miles on mine and not one problem yet.

just do lots of test driving and researching online until you find something you are content with! :happy2:

never lease. Anything.

PS my sister thought the same thing as you even though i said hell no and was so friggin pissed when she went to trade in. She got reamed. windshield nicks, scratches in paint, anything that isnt PERFECT in the car gets money money money money. They made her spend like 2000 dollars before theyd accept it in to get everything fixed.

edit:

You can either get a 2004 and figure out the best warranty for price/time. I loved my 7 year anything goes warranty. I used it for EVERYTHING. plus they washed my car every time I took it in and vacuumed it.

OR you can save some cash and get an 03 or 04 that someone just bought and then ran into issues in life and get it under warranty still and for cheap.

Unless you are an excellent negotiator. I got 7 grand taken off the tag price, and if you dont think you can do that, Id say buy private. Youll save loads.

Agree with Orbax and others. There are a pile of hidden costs in leasing that will soak you. It's basically a rental and the leasor is in the business of making money. Buy you own. Finance something used and in your financial range. You can get something better when you can afford it later. I'm fixing to buy a new car soon, and I won't get taken to the cleaners. I'd have to think a while to remember all the cars I've owned.

my uncle always said

Nissan and Toyota are one of the best cars, especially Toyota, even an old model can maintain for a long time.

Used nissans build year 90-94 are wanted here in holland, they good cars.

By the time my lease was up on my Saturn, I had 15,000 over. It would have cost me $2200 in mileage so I bought it out. It would have been paid off in September but last June I just HAD to have a convertible & I fell in love with the Camaro. The dealership I bought it from paid the Saturn off. Now I've got double the payments and insurance out the ass but we all need to spoil ourselves at one point...I'd have leased that one if I didn't drive so much.

And thanks for the tip on the Saab. Maybe I won't ever get one either! :) Although they are a hot li'l car!!

ok i applied for a 12k used car loan today with my bank. wish me luck!!!

oh yea, and you guys probably will say "dont do it", but i reeeaaallly have a thing for the mid 90's C class benz. they are so cute and girly!! what do u think? big mistake? i know if something goes wrong, i'll pay up the ass in parts, but if it's in good shape, it should be ok right? benzes aren't expensive for nothing, they're supposed to be good cars. here's a link to one.

yeah benz is solid. i had a benz for my first car and it seriously had like 250,000 miles and i never needed to do anything except change oil as usual. the only reason i got rid of it was a car accident. solid german engineering those benzes...

note: yes i paid every penny cash for it :p
Orbax
My sister just picked up a benz for 17 grand. "sport" package with carbon fiber styling and stuff. Real smooth car. Controls that flip the read headrests up and down so you can see better...just lots of funny little stuff thats pretty cool.

Not very punchy however. For an active lifestyle: go sport wagon. Its the only way!
