Was a good match. Not quite as good as the Holland-Czech game though... The tournament has had some great games so far - good to see this was also exciting. :D
Just hope I don't have to listen to these damn commentators giving the usual excuses for England going out over the next few weeks... :rolleyes: |

Ahhh that sucks.
They shouldn't have put in vassell, he sucked ass the whole match. James is e at penalties, period. And Beckham...well he's like Totti, overrated and overhyped, when he's really e. Too bad Rooney had to go out. :(

That was almost too much excitement. :eek: IMO Portugal deserved to win, despite the disallowed goal. After mass raiding England's box for almost 70 minutes and Svennis took off Gerrard, they finally broke through England's defense and equalized. Just goes to show yet again that falling back and defending for the remainder of the game won't work at a level like this.
OT and Shootouts were nerve wrecking for me, I was shaky for several minutes after Ricardo had booted England out of the championships single handedly by saving Vassell's penalty with his bare hands, stealing the next penalty from Valente and whacking it into the left goal pocket. Props to him for superb nerve control and serious amounts of guts. Awesome goal by Rui Costa too :eyes:

My thoughts exactly.
Ref's cant referee their own country, so they shouldn't be allowed to referee teams that have played them in big competitions surely. |

We should have won it because of the disallowed goal. But then again they dominated us, fair play.
And Beckhams penalty... I'm sure the penalty spot was dodgy seeing as all the players after Beckham were gardening after when they came to take one. But still he's at penaltys either way |

Never have I felt so gutted about an England defeat in all my days. At least when we lost to Argentina, the goal disallowed was justified, but this time round the more I watch it the more sad I am because of it. The ref realised the host was about to go out and ing bottled it. As put by Peter Reid, we've been cheated. :( |
