| Why would you want to do the midnight thing? The first one was really average. |

I thought the first one was alright at best but this one is getting great reviews. Ebert gave it four stars and I'm finding myself agreeing with him on a lot of movies lately. I'll probably go check it out tomorrow during the day because I don't have anything else to do. |

Same reason people watch the Star Wars movies at midnight..... So they can say they saw it first. |

yeah i saw it last night at midnight, but i was tired when i got home and didnt feel like writing out a huge long review..
and like i said before, i went to go see it because:
a) it was free for me
b) im writing a review for it for my school paper.
i'd say its worth seeing, a lot of people were saying that its better then the original, but IMO i think its just about the same. Does that make it better than the original? well i think it depends...
its kind of like the Batman movies, b/c everyone has their favorite evil villain and each Batman movie has its own storyline and stuff..
i dunno, thats one way of thinking about it.
but doc ock was pretty cool, i must admit. those arm things really were like an extension from his body, and i dunno if they were CGI blue-screened (i think i read somewhere that they actually did make several tentacles for a couple scenes) but Alfred Molinas really acted so great with those attached. Very cool stunts and there was a little more action involed this time around..
also it continues the storyline, which i like too.. Kind of like the X-men movies, it adds villains and heroes, but it continues the storyline, which i like. And yeah it definitely opens up the door wide for the 3rd on, and if you read the comics, you pretty much can guess whats going to happen...
So i'd say go see it if you really liked the first one a lot. IF you didnt like it as much, then just wait for the DVD release. |

Ebert is notorius for giving good reviews to "blockbuster" movies. He's a tool of the movie studios. |
