Chicane's original is way better IMO than what Svenson & Gielen did with it. The original's emotion is gone and is just full of stabbing synths and dutch trance "vibe" which makes me yawn.
Btw, it's Halcyon like Orbital's classic track with the same name (and its updated version Halcyon + On + On). |

| Said this before in another thread but I think the build on this tune is absolutely cracking, but it goes to pot when the riff comes in, far too stabby & the aural equivalent of garish. |

Is it any wonder, Svenson & Gielen are one trick ponies of the worst kind.
I can't understand what people see in them, they've managed to ruin just about every track they touch. |

airscape - l'esperanza[svenson goes to the love parade mix]
abnea - velvet moods

^^ were quality trance productions.. yeah lots of svenson and gielen's stuff are cheese.. but some airscape productions and remixes are top notch.
oh, i didnt think airscape remix of halcyon was terrible but i prefer the original. |

Yeah i like the remix, it is more energetic, but still, the original s all over it.....
*EDIT* Actually, i just listened to it again, and i don't really like the remix that much. |

| I don't mind the Airscape Remix, but Halcyon is one of my favourite Chicane tracks, and I think the original, and even moreso, the Live at Palladium Original version are both far superior in terms of emotional build and excitement, for my tastes at least. |

The one exception being Vengaboys - Kiss ;)
Post-1999 I haven't liked anything by them at all I don't think. |
