For printing... try www.kinkos.com or various other places... there's lots of places that will do it for you and you can specify various things (ex you could make 2 per page and ask for cutting, etc)
PM me if you want me to photoshop a flier for you. |

A poster designed in photoshop is a bitmap graphic. A bitmap graphic is made up of pixels, or dots, that make up the image. It is fine for printing the document in its original size, but if you want to make it larger, bitmapping will occur, which looks like this :
A poster made in illustrator is a vector graphic, which is made up of lines. You can alter its size and the poster will look exactly the same no matter how large or small you make it. Illustrators tools also are much easier for making posters/flyers...
Basically a vector graphic file gives you more versitilty then bitmap graphic file. You can do more with it. A posted done in vector format will be high quality when printed as well.
You can get sneaky in photoshop and turn a bitmap grahpic into a vector graphic, this will occur:
I tried to explain it in the simplest terms as possible ! Hopefully you get what I am trying to say.... |

you know your ^
illustrator is soooo much easier to do text with...and much better when working in cmyk. it is also a layout tool, so perfect for flyers.
thats what i use for all of my designs

obviously you can use photoshop to make backgrounds, addjust dj images, add outer glows, etc, but when ya do the actual design, it should be done in a vector program such as illustrator.
if you were to print 4pt text in photoshop, it would be fuzzy and not legible, but in vector art it would be clear and crisp...
but honestly, for a rave flyer, it doesn't really matter, and designers are probably to only ones that can tell the differnce, plus it takes some expertise to be able to properly set up vector files for printing..whatever |
