okay so i go to HMV and i ask them to get me Leon the professional. they get me the movie, it looks all okay and , so i take it right. now i come home and i see that a couple of the important scenes of the movie are missing!!! im going nuts, so i go on the net and find out that the version i got is the US version that was cut !!!! BASTARDS!!! i never knew that they had two versions!!! and it didnt say about that on the cover of the DVD or on the DVD or in the DVD menu... NOWHERE!!!! so i go back to HMV and they tell me i cant exchange it cuz i opened it already, and the full version costs almost twice as much as the cut (FOR WHAT? TWO SCENCES?????). so bascially i wanna find where i can download the movie (or just the missing scenes), anyone can help me?
(sorry if i hurt your eyes im just pissed over this cuz i lost money, money that i reaaaaally wanted to invest well but carelessness got in the way) |

It has deleted scenes, not marked on the packaging - take it back. |

I thought HMV took back just about anything...I'm sure they'll *at least* exchange it.

| Now you know there's "other" version :p Anyways see if there's an Easter Egg in the dvd and if it has the deleted scenes. |

| Aren't there three versions of the movie? I think the version most of us have seen in Europe is the second cut, and the US version is the third cut. Then there's the original, which i still haven't seen. I'm not even sure if it's for sale. |

but, seriously they should take it back...if one says no...then ask another...or call a manager to help u...or look for a female who looks kind, compassionate and understanding...those usually work for me.
This even worked when i wanted to bring back used underwear :P

I think they stopped that policy a while ago, once they realized everyone was probably burning the cds & returning them anyways. |

yup, shes right. Working for the entertainment retail sector, Canada recently placed a law forbidding retailers from accepting opened shrink wrapped cd/dvd cases due to piracy. Because of this, accepting an opened dvd or cd, they might as well let you steal the copy, because they lose money since the manufacturer wont refund it.
HOWEVER, in your case, there may be a loophole around this. The only way you can get around this law, is through an exchange of the same title. If you get a defective product, you may exchange it for a new copy of it. So..the only way around this, is telling them you want to return this version and get the OTHER version and pay the difference. Its the same movie except with added scenes, so it should be a problem. Its using the same case of a DVD i bought with a whole chapter missing. IF they dont budge, tell them you'll take it to management, because you have the right to return it for the same title if you are not satisfied with the original product. |
