Which compilation CD has a special meaning to you? Was it the Trance Energy you bought last year, or maybe the last buddha bar?

In 2000 I bought "Trance Files vol.1" That compilation-CD really has a special meaning to me because it's the first Trance-compilation I ever bought!

A Higher State of Euphoria, mixed by PF Project. Absolutely classic mixed comp from 1999. I can still listen to it like it's the first time I've heard it.

Houseparty 1 back from 1991 :) The CD where it all started for me in EDM :)
Stories
PvD's TPOD... first compilation that blew my socks off because of its extremely high production values.

Dj Tiesto Summerbreeze

It was the first compilation I bought that opened my eyes to the (ferry, armin, tiesto style) uplifting trance. I used to think the stuff was boring, the way I think prog is boring back then. This was the cd that made me stop liking MoS and cream compilations.

For me it has to be a couple in a series on the Arcade label:

1. Turn up the Bass - 1991 Megamix *45 or so songs unbelievably mixed together, with a few different genre's. Ken Groeneveld & Addy van der Zwan quickly became my favorite dj's (for a while anyway), and mixed a few comp's for Arcade in this series, they were all awesome!
2. House Party 13 1/2 - The Cyberactive Club mix *another mix by Ken & Addy. This has got some very good clubTrance tunes ie Point Blank - Meng's Theme .

I bought these at the beginning/height of my clubbing days, so it brings back many fond memories.

Chilled Euphoria Mixed by Solar Stone - My first taste of "chillout" material, I'm a big fan of the genre now.

Balance 005 Mixed by James Holden - One of the greatest electronica compilations ever imo. Still sounds fresh even a year after release.

DJ Tiesto presents Magik 6: Live in Amsterdam - My first exposure to the Magik series. Always takes me back to the "good ol'days" of trance.
