On the other hand...i said the shoe thing could be a conversation STARTER, doesn't mean you have to go into a 10 minute discussion about shoe laces or anything... could just be that one liner to break the ice. good conversationists can get a conversation flowing from there.

I'm saying the guy could turn up the volume on the radio and casually ask if the girl listens to that sort of music. If not, he could turn it off. Shows he's being sweet. It's sad that you refer to that as being a "sucker." What it is, is being a gentleman. Besides, if she likes country music or some that you hate, if I were the guy I'd immediately lose interest anyway.

You obviously have met a shallow grouping of women if some could talk about shoes all day. And if you were curious about my heels I would immediately think you were gay. Most women would. Or they'd at the very least think you're more than a bit odd. I think your conversation starter should lie elsewhere, my friend.

hot girls are used to guys doing anything for them. they have guys buying them drinks at clubs and bars etc. these are usually from guys who focus on one girl in a room of 100 and purses her like she was the epitome of women.

You're looking at this from a much older and serious perspective. If the guy is totally in love with this women and didn't want to lose her it would definetely be a nice gesture to listen to her music etc. But when you initially meet a women you gotta take into consideration that she could be an absolute bitch (and there are a fair share of them out there) who would like nothing more than to use you.

Sure, but how is turning on her music her using you?!

And for the record, I'm 21, and considered by more than a few guys to be fairly hot. *shrug* Just so you know I'm not an older Internet geek type of girl.

i was exaggerating a bit. But getting you to change the music station to her preference is a start. If it were my bus i'd listen to what I want to listen to

age isn't really relevent. you can be 18 and looking for a serious relationship or 50 and looking for some nice ass :nervous:

Whoa, okay, here's the difference. You turn down your music (or turn it up if she likes it) or change the station out of the kindness of your heart, to show her that you're a gentleman and maybe that you're interested. If she's trying to use her looks to try and get you to change the ing station, obviously she's got issues.

It's not necessarily age that makes a difference, but maturity level.

there's too many ways to approach this. you can find a station that she absolutely hates and give a cocky grin/smile and it won't mean you're not interessted... just that if someone came up to me while i'm driving my bus and asks me to change the station, my initial reaction woudldn't be to give in and be her bitch. I'd at least show her initially that i'm not gonna have women bark orders at me...maybe after a short 1-2 minute convo i'd change the station...you know, make her work for it

Dude. You're way overanalyzing this. And I'm sorry, but you missed my point. The point was YOU make the effort and put on the music she likes. HER asking you to change the station NEVER entered into the equation. It's all about what YOU do.

And you have some interesting ideas about women and subjugation.

Yeah, so I've been told :D

and no I didn't miss your point. I just don't agree with it. Like I said, some guys focus too much on one woman.

enjoyed the chat though.

You missed my point, because you continue to imagine the situation as in one where a woman calls the shots. We're talking about a guy, interested in a girl, calling the shots--NOT responding to a girl who demands that you put on her music.

i wasn't aware we were actually discussing the story from the thread starter...in that case the woman was not even in his bus...she was in the car beside his bus...which makes your point irrelevent

and again, i didn't miss your point.
